There has been a lot of discussion about who could possibly go up against Jon Jones and I think this would be the perfect opportunity for UFC to hold a light heavy tournament. Now that Bones is the top dog everyone in that weight division is on a level playing field, there is no clear cut number 2.
I know he has Rashad Evans as his next opponent but the odds are stacked against him. And after that who is left? Rampage? Machida? Their fight showed that neither of them are ready to take on the champ. There have been talks of Phil Davis, but he is still gaining experience and with this tournament he would have a chance to prove he should be the next challenger.
Well what should Jon Jones do in the meantime while he is waiting for the tournament to end? Put him on TUF, maybe against Rashad Evans. That's my humble opinion.

Rampage vs Shogun - UFC 135
Machida vs Franklin - UFC 134
Bader vs Couture - UFC 132
Forrest vs Rashad - UFC 135
- Rampags vs Shogun - most interested fight of the whole tourny, UFC has to make sure it happens
- Machida vs Franklin - Rich is a good everywhere. Likely has the best shot of everyone in the other 2 fights to take out Machida
- Bader vs Couture - Old guard vs new guard. Would be a good battle everywhere
- Forrest vs Rashad - Good fight the first time. would be good to see round 2

I wonder how they do handle the Rampage situation though. Obviously the Shogun/Rampage fight sells itself to any longtime fan, and the marketing and avenging the admitted worst beating he's ever had angle to the casual/newer fan. BUT do they immediately put Rampage in as #1 if he beats Hammil decisively? They did offer him the title fight before Jones stepped in after all. Or do they try to sell Page on the Shogun rematch before getting a title shot?

I bet Rampage would love to avenge that loss like he did with W. Silva too. No doubt everyone would line up to see that fight

Rampage has a lot of option here, I would have liked to see him against Thiago Silva

Take out Shogun and Insert Davis. Not sure why you would have a dude in there that was just embarassed by Jones. Let somebody else get a shot.

I'd be all over seeing that fight haha, could definitely headline a early fall card. Guess it depends where Rampage's head is if he beats Hammil, thats a hell of a decision for him to make. Avenge a loss, or fight for the title. Rampage/Rua would be huge on the Rio card.

I think it will be equally as terrible as the first one. They will both be cautious and it will turn into a slumber party cuddle fest.

Thiago Silva would be in the tourny if he got the roid issue cleared up. In all likely hood he would have to replace Randy.

I was just about to ask does anyone have any recent updates on his current situation? I think hes a great fighter and I always tune into his fights so I'll be pretty disapointed if it comes out that he truly did use PEDs.
