Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Lyoto Machida were pointed out as the probable next coaches of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter Brazil, predicted for the beginning of 2013, but the title shot forced the Karate fighter to change his plans. And who liked it was Rogerio “Minotouro” Nogueira, who wants to fight Shogun, who defeated Brandon Vera last Saturday, next.
“I would love to, it’d be awesome… A dream”, said the fighter on an exclusive interview with
TATAME.
Little Nogueira and Shogun Rua fought at Pride’s Grand Prix in 2005, and Rua got the win on a fight which was later labeled as the best fight of all time, and fans all around the globe would like to see this rematch.
“It would be very good to me and it would be a rematch of 2005’s fight, which is something people wanna see. If I have a chance to coach the guys at TUF and also fight him, it would be amazing”, highlights.
Minotouro’s brother, Minotauro Nogueira had the chance to be a coach on the eighth season of TUF on the United Stated and Rogerio watched closely his brother’s journey.
“Rodrigo learned a lot from TUF. He learned more about being a coach and how to make the team united and gathered. On the United States he’s seen by many as the best coach the show ever had and he got even more famous after the show”.
Recovered from the injury, Lil’ Nog is coming back to the trainings and believe that a chance to be a coach the the reality show would be the perfect way to comeback, once he hasn’t fight since got a win by knockout over former champion Tito Ortiz, in December of 2011.
“Man, I’m back. I started training this week and I’m training Boxing, Jiu-Jitsu… I just need to train Wrestling more because I’m learning the positions and I gotta earn confidence on it”, explains. “I believe in three month I can fight again”.

That would be cool if they decided to match Gustafsson with Rashad. But I'd rather see Shogun/Gustafsson

I think Gustafsson would too. Rashads wrestling is his Kryptonite and his last camp he prepared for an extreme version of Gustafsson in JBJ...

And I remember when people complained when a championship title got held up because of TUF.
Guess you just can't make everybody happy.

I want a Ferarri, doesnt mean I deserve it or gonna get it. Anyway, I think Lil' Nog beats the brakes off of Shogun if they were to fight.

I want to see that rematch.
But well, Shogun had the title, lost to JBJ, won over Forrest via 1st round KO, lost in close decision in FOTY against next challenger Hendo, and just won vs Vera via 4th round TKO.
Lil Nog joined the UFC, KO'd an overrated Luiz Cané, won a controversial Split Decision vs a cut Brilz, lost to Bader and Davis, then finished Ortiz.
It's a bit like matching Cerrone and Guillard, Shogun would have everything to lose there, while Lil Nog has everything to win...
Edit: Anderson Silva vs Shogun as coaches sounds better.

Silva would never Fight Shogun because they shared an elevator once in 1984. Plus Shogun is the new BJ Penn and gets gassed shaving in the morning now and has absolutely nothing for Silva.

Id give Shogun a better chance at this point in his career than 90% of Silvas opponents had to begin with.
I dont see how people are talking about his Cardio with the last two fights he's had. Hendo Vs Shogun & Vs Vera is very hard to judge because of the way the fights rolled out. He got hit with like 4 Hendo bombs and did a ton of everything in that fight and still was able to be active as he was at the 25th minute. Still it may have had not much power on it, but I dont know many people that would after that fight. Hominick didnt. The Vera fight he looked tired after dominating with Grappling for the first 5 minutes, he came out a little winded in the second, and Vera came out fresh, he took a lot of Shots from Vera that round Recovered in the 3rd completly finished strong, and then Looked Brand New in the 4th when he Finished Vera. In the 4th....
Do you know how many top fighters whom we never discuss there cardio and they are exhausted after the second round.
People are under-estimating the taxing style of those fights.

This
I hope they make Gustafsson vs Shogun so Shogun can show he is still the 2# best LHW and with a little bit of luck Shogun can beat Jones.

I've been wanting to see a rematch between them for a long time. IDK why anyone would not want to see a rematch of the greatest fight in MMA history.
