Antonio Rogerio Nogueira gives his thoughts on his training partner Anderson Silva's upcoming showdown with the highly outspoken Chael Sonnen. Sonnen took a back-handed swipe at the Nogueira's when he referred to the blackbelt Silva received from the Nogueira's as "a toy that you get in a happy meal."
Silva has remained quiet and apparently focused through the one-sided media tirade during which Sonnen has repeatedly questioned Silva's character.

The only problem with saying Sonnen has "no qualifications" to fight for the belt is that Chael beat Miller, Okami, then the divisions "#2" Nate Marquardt for the shot. Who else qualifies more than Sonnen right now?

He might be right about Sonnen but I am still looking forward to the fight. The last few guys Silva has fought were beaten before they got into the ring. Sonnen is gonna bring it to him.

No one can say for sure that he isn't mentally beaten. The question is, did Chael talk alot of s--- before his other fights from behind a smaller microphone? If he did and this is not out of character then it would be relatively safe to say he isnt.

I find it interesting that some people are buying into what he is saying about how he is not only going to bring it to Silva, but that he is going to beat Silva. A sufficient number of fighters have brought it to Silva over the past four years. Of course once they get punked in the face enough times, they tend to start thinking long and hard about how much they want to press the fight. I don't think Sonnen will be any different.

I've been saying that a strong wretler who isn't afraid to just hold down anderson silva for a 'boring' fight could beat him. i thought chael sonnen was the guy i'd be rooting for on this one, but sonnen has talked so much crap about so many fighters, that i just want anderson to outclass him just like he does all his opponents. i don't like silva's showboating, but i think sonnen deserves to be made a fool of, after which hopefully anderson finishes him.

Well said! Anderson Silva's take down defense is average at best. We've seen Henderson, Lutter & Marqardt all do it with ease. If Sonnen doesn't get caught via submission (big "if")... he wins this fight.

He is definitely the most dangerous man in the world. When is the last time he was in trouble in a fight? I think it was in 2004 when Ryo Chonan pulled off the most insane Flying Scissor Heel Hook out of no where.
