Rockhold faces Vitor Belfort at UFC returns to Brazil in April
Work on the duel between Luke Rockhold and Vitor Belfort had a happy ending.
As TATAME found, the organization will hold the UFC fight in the next edition of the event in Brazil, expected to happen in April.
Belfort x Rockhold, which will give the winner a chance at the middleweight belt, will be the main fight of the show.
The Rio de Janeiro to host once again the UFC. The "Marvelous City" faces competition from Brasilia to host the new show event in the country.
Last January, Belfort dispatched Michael Bisping at UFC Sao Paulo, sending the Englishman to the canvas with a beautiful high kick in the second round.
Owner belt category at the now defunct Strikeforce, Rockhold will make his debut in the UFC octagon. His last fight was in July last year, when he defeated Tim Kennedy for points and successfully defended his belt for the second time.

Ah man, this means that A. Silva doesn't get to pick a fighter that has a perfect style for him.

Interesting.... I wonder if they'll pair this with Sweden card, and have that event feed into the prelims on Fuel....?

He did look savage in his last fight. Looked like the fire was back, then again, it could have been the TRT. Regardless, I wont pick against him unless it's A. Silva or J. Jones.

You're right, it could be the TRT. And I'm sure Vitor will still be on it when he fights Rockhold so I wouldn't pick against him either. Vitor via TRT strikes to the face.

It's crazy how everything happened
Bisping guaranteed title shot if he beats Belfort gets ko'ed
You can't excatly give belfort a second crack for two reasons
that front kick was still in alot of peoples head
and
He called out Jones which was pretty stupid to do so he kind of ruled himself out
Then the whole Rashad would take a fight with Anderson, he looked horrible and lost
only one option left thats Weidman

Well that was the only thing that was going to happen after Rashad lost...they were working on Vitor/Luke prior to that event.

Then the winner of that fights next for the belt

Which makes sense unless Anderson/GSP or Anderson/Jones happens. Vitor has been on fire and getting past Bisping and then Rockhold solidifies him as the #1 contender in the MW division. Same goes for Rockhold considering he was the SF champion....a win over Vitor easily puts him in line.
Everyone
should be happy with the current scenario.

Wasn't Dana just saying that they have nothing planned for Brazil right now? If this is true, I wouldn't be surprised if they have Silva-Weidman headline the same card.

It's possible. Especially since Weidman was so open to fighting him in Brazil.....I can't see Anderson saying no if that's what the UFC wants to do. At the time White said that I'm sure they had this Brazil event in the works but he couldn't really say it because it wasn't finalized.

Sad thing is, I don't think Weidman will be ready I'm time for April. Most likely I think we'll see Silva-Weidman in July.

Annnnd on that note, this fight was just announced as the headliner. All indications point to a July fight between Silva and Weidman.

I can just hear the Weidman excuses now...
"He was coming off a long lay off", "he had a hard weight cut because he was off so long"
Mark my words.
