It appears a middleweight contest between heavy hitting Pilipino, Mark Munoz and Arizona native, Aaron Simpson is in the works for UFC 123 on November 20th in Detroit, Michigan with both men looking for a much needed win.
According to MMAWeekly.com, a source close to the fight has revealed verbal agreements are in place on both sides and that bout agreements are set to be issued shortly.
Munoz had strung together a series of impressive wins including a second round TKO victory over Kendall Grove at UFC 112 before he dropped a split decision to Yushin Okami on the UFC on Versus 2 card last month.
As for Simpson, he was undefeated until he ran into Chris Leben on “The Ultimate Fighter” season eleven finale, losing in the second round via TKO. He had previously defeated the likes of Ed Herman and Tom Lawlor.

I think Munoz will KO him as he has heavier hands, is stronger and has just as good wrestling imho.

im gonna go with munoz for this one. i like simpson and want him to win, but i just have a gut feeling that munoz will knock him out

lets go Munoz. I really like him, I wanna see him do well here and get set up with a top 10 fight. Simpson and Munoz are very similar heavy hitting wrestlers. I think Munoz has more heart though, which will win him this fight.

If I remember correctly, it took Simpson gassing in the 2nd round for Leben to earn a tko. I dont think Munoz hits as hard as Leben. I think Simpson has more recent wrestling experience (being the assistant coach at ASU) and should be able to nullify or best Munoz in that department. I'll take Simpson to win by decision.

if its a stand up fight i go with Munoz.........but i'll take Simpson if Munoz tries to do some of those horrible takedowns he tried in his last fight............just horrible......i mean only James toney would have been taken down by those.
