Today, Dana stated that they are looking for a replacement for Conor at UFC 202, because Nate wont take it under the current contract. And the UFC are unwilling to give him a new contract, yet again.
Edgar and Aldo is at UFC 200, too close to UFC 202 in August.
Conor needs to defend his belt.
But Holloway needs some drama, the Stephens fight was very underwhelming, and his previous fight was the disappointing Oliveira injury. He needs a finish and a callout, if he can perform and be dramatic, make an impact, he can slip into this opening. If he wants it, he needs to f---ing take it, which makes this fight very interesting and very important.

I get what you are saying, but Max went 4-0 in 2015. If he beats Lamas, he would be the obvious choice as he would be 9-0 since facing Conor.
Nate is cutting off his nose to spite his face. I have heard he made anywhere from 2 to 3 million for the last fight and wants more for the rematch. I get him feeling he is in a good position, but Conor remains the top dog and the rematch really is Nate's only ace as there are more dangerous, but lower profile fights for him.

Exactly, Nate got alot of hype of the Conor fight, but he is taking this too far. He supposedly got a great new contract for 200, and that he wants a new even better one for 202, is overvaluing his position, Conor is still by far the big catalyst in that fight. Or any other fight for that matter.
And, if Nate refuses to fight, he throws everything into the air. Conor is proboly gonna fight at 202, and then the Egdar/Aldo winner, wich means that some type of Nate fight wont be until 2017. And anything can happen until then, too many variables.
That said, if Conor wins his next 2-3 fights, gets hype, Nate is gonna be that "guy he couldent beat". And he might be able to leverage that into some megafight next year.

Nor sure about that, Nate may well be seen as "Conor's bad night," especially if Nate goes 1-2 in his next 3, which is not out of the question.

Nice, Looking like a McGregor defense is the only thing going for 202 right now. All the other titles are already scheduled to be defended and I doubt Rochold or Cruz will defend again 2 months later.

Should Conor even go back down to FW? Seems like after trying WW, he'd stay at LW for a while. Strike a deal with Conor to relinquish his FW belt but in return get next LW title shot.

I think he has to defend the belt once.

I personally think Conor will just decline 202 and wait for Nate to work out his situation. It's the fight to make regardless if anyone likes it or not. Zuffa knows how much money is there for the taking, Holloway vs Conor II doesn't draw anywhere near the same attention
Too much money there for Zuffa to ignore. It's the biggest fight that Zuffa can sell to the casual market

If Conor does not fight at 202, his next fight will be the winner of Frankie/Aldo, Conor is not going to sit on the sidelines for six plus months for Nate, it makes him look like a puss. When Conor/Nate II was announced, everyone said "blah" and only it being canceled changed that. The rematch, at this time, is nothing special, If Conor and Nate each win a couple of fights, it will be far bigger. But Nate's next fight does well no matter what.

Lol @ Nate Diaz. Just when he makes a bunch of fans he finds a way to screw it up.

Judging between Aldo vs Edgar for 200 if who ever wins is still in pretty good shape theres no reason they couldnt fight 202 against Mcgregor. Mcgregor went from UFC 194 t0 196 with ease. Just depends on their fighting condition after their fight.
Sidenote: Id like to see either Stephens Vs. Mcgregor (EXPLOSIVE) or possibly Cub Swanson vs. Mcgregor

Normally, I'd agree but not here(unless Diaz wants millions per fight from here on out) if he wants a reworked contract and get another massive payday that was bigger than the last McGregor fight, I understand. Connor will most likely get 10$ mil when all Is said is done. Plus he's obsessed with this match. Diaz may end up losing out, but he deserves a huge piece of the pie here as well. After all, he did beat conor.
And before anyone says conor is the draw, he deserves the $$ etcetc. I get that. But given the circumstances, I like Diaz trying to get more. Whether it works out or not is another question.
In the end I think it will. Maybe don't offer a new reworked contact, but up the ppv buys %. Then Diaz can go on vacation

Well I don't really see Holloway/McGregor 2 doing much more than 1 million buys while Nate/Conor 2 breaks the record. So everyone involved makes way more money with Diaz/McGregor 2 but I like the idea of McGregor defending his belt so I'm A okay with this.

Max has his work cut out versus lamas, despite the crazy odds. In fact, he's not fought a solid grappler that can wrestle in one of those 9 wins. If he wins again impressively and injury free then why the f--- not.

Hate the odds for this fight. Lamas should not be that big of an underdog regardless of who wins.

This is why we win worlds titles and s--- my friend
Yeah the odds are ridiculous on this. I felt the same on Carraway last week and thought that he could be a stylistic nightmare for Sterling and he was. Makes you a little hesitant to pick the dog in this one, just in case I face the fav and odds gamer that will naturally pick Max high cuz of those stupidly high odds. I still might yet, I'm certainly considering it, but I'm just trying to work out if max can stop the takedowns. The only solid grapplers he's faced in those nine wins is Oliviera and Cole Miller and none of them in that nine can wrestle like Ricardo Lamas might.
I'll decide tonight but those odds are crazy on max in this particular fight, that could potentially be, another stylistic nightmare tbh.
