that is the reason joe silva keeps giving him bjj guys, because that was his weakness, and joe silva obviously sees alot of pottential in him so he is trying to see if he can handle them and he has been so far so joe silva awarded him with a slugfest in jeremy stephens. if he can beat stephens he will move up a lot in competition. i personally think he should use a bit of ground and pound more often
if he beats stephens, give him another big name and then i'd like to see him get a shot. now that he's with a great camp his chances are a lot better. it just sucks that his fight with tavares didn't pan out and he ended up fighting someone with no relevance in the pecking order of the ufc.

just because they are black strikers does not mean they are similar. melvin is more of a power boxer and kongo is a kickboxer who uses his reach. not at all the same
Wow this is just too funny.......hell the last 3 guys who lost to GSP could destroy Melvin.....and Kos could as well.
He is fun to watch and might devolope into more but as of right now the only way to justify a title shot is if GSP beats every other WW and he is the only one standing.

How aren't they similar? They're both primarily strikers, have excellent clinch-strikes, are explosively powerful, and are both limited when it comes grappling skills. Also, and this is the main similarity I was trying to draw upon, they have both failed miserably when they have stepped up in competition.

are you for real? well is because of fights like the ones he got against clementi, joe daddy, nate diaz that he hasnt have a title shot, because in those fights he has show he hasnt develop into a champion material, good figther? yes but not title contender yet and not to mention his complains about joe daddy steroids alegattions and them he was the one that got caught and of course his greassing cheating in the huerta fight
PS: and not to mention that tibau got robbed in the decision and everybody knows about it so there you go why he hasnt and is not even close to a title shot

He will get one soon. once he knows how to defend subs much better. He will likely get one soon. I could see him dominating BJ Penn.
