Veteran UFC welterweight Chris Lylte (27-17-5 MMA, 6-9 UFC) and former WEC welterweight champion Carlos Condit (22-5 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will meet at UFC Fight Night 19 in September.
In fairness, between Condit, Kampmann, or Swick, none are ready. Is there anyone else? no. but that doesn't mean that any of these guys are a good idea either. It'll be like Cote vs. Silva. you try to think of some way Cote will win, but everyone knows he won't. Same thing with Gsp against these guys.

swick has a decent chance at winning. hes fast on his feet has decent take down d and has good jits. hes active no matter where the fight goes. hes fought bigger guys at middleweight

I agree.
GSP is the best WW on the planet, but that doesn't mean guys don't "deserve" a title shot because they can't beat him.
Mike Swick has lost one fight in the UFC and that was to Okami, who's a top 5 MW and a huge MW. And, Swick didn't get destroyed in the fight. He's also definitely a top 10 WW.
Martin Kampmann just beat Condit. Yes, a VERY close fight, but a win. He also has a good record at MW, where he defeated Thales Leites a former challenger for the MW title and currenlty top 10 MW in the world. He only got destroyed by Marquardt, another Huge MW and currently top 2-5 MW in the world. He's also definitely a top 10 WW.
Jon Fitch and Thiago Alves, while both were OWNED by GSP they can come back and get another shot if they continue to grow and improve. Remember, GSP lost to Hughes in their first fight relatively quickly and won a disputed split decision over Penn after that. Since then, he's improved every fight, minus the freak Serra loss. Other guys should be given the same chances that GSP has gotten to prove themselves.
There are also younger guys like Condit, Larson, Johnson who could continue to grow and improve and eventually challenge GSP for the title.
GSP is the man! But, he still has to go out and continue to defend his title and THEN he can cement a legacy as the best WW of all time. FOR NOW, that title still belongs to Matt Hughes.
