FINAL ROUND CATEGORY:
Perfect Playlist. One of the local radio stations here does something called "Perfect Playlist" where they have listeners put together a 5 song playlist. The station will then select a playlist and invite the creator to the station to talk about it as they play the songs. Your job is to put together your perfect play list. Just put together any 5 songs and then the junkies will vote for the best list.

Indeed. That playlist is going to go down hard. I like Jack White and all but a lack of variety and it had Linkin Park so I went with #1. Of all the classic era GnR songs that one is the one I want to hear the least *except for the solo.

I have to agree the linkin park and sweet child of mine killed it for me as well. I still went with #1 though

I voted for #1, and I like most of the songs on both play lists, but they lack variety in a big way for my tastes.

Lacking variety was somewhat of a requirement, wasn't it? Play lists usually have a common theme (or at least genre).

No, the idea behind "Perfect Playlist" was to be able to put together any kind of list involving any songs from any genre. A theme wasn't required. You could have mixed it up anyway you wanted.

Just re-read the category, and I could see how it could be interpreted that way, so yeah. Wouldn't be my way of defining it, but then I lost in rd 2.

I thought this line "Just put together any 5 songs" made it obvious. There was no wrong answer. You could have a theme, lots of variety, or none at all.

I'll save the excuses but at least I made it to 2 finals picking all songs I like. I'll never win. :cry:
Honestly I have to say though that other list makes me want to puke but it makes more sense than mine if that make any sense?

I hear ya. I actually prefer a few of your songs but like his selection of bands more; I did find his song selection a little off. But you had Linkin Park so that was auto fail in my books.

TBH, there is all of 1 song that I actually like on both playlists, and that's Baba O' Riley. Flame me all you want, but I'm not much of a Beatles fan. So, I went with playlist numeo uno. Sorry playlist #2, if I were still in 9th or 10th grade, then Linkin Park and Papa Roach would have had me, but I grew out of both of them. Not trying to say they suck or anything, or bash what you picked, but my musical tastes have changed in the last 10 years.

I hear you. Not stuff I listen to anymore but when I started google and listening to stuff I stumbled across them. Figured it was a narrow market but I took a shot at it. I didn't think I could get away with another Metallica song this round but I guess I might as well have thrown one in.
