Wow. Where is the logic in these rankings? On what planet are these rankings accurate
Heavy
1. Fedor Emelianenko
2. Josh Barnett
3. Frank Mir
4. Andrei Arlovski
5. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
6. Randy Couture
7. Tim Sylvia
8. Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic
9. Brock Lesnar
10. Fabricio Werdum
I think Randy could take Brock in a rematch, but last time I checked Brock tko'd him. How is Brock 9th and Randy 6th? Tim and Mirko are no longer top 10 heavies, not even in that are. And Mirko is not even top 20 at this point, Mirko has been the most regressed fighter I have seen recently, how in the world do they have him ranked at that spot.
Lightheavy
1. Rashad Evans
2. Lyoto Machida
3. Forrest Griffin
4. Quinton Jackson
5. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua
6. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
7. Wanderlei Silva
8. Keith Jardine
9. Thiago Silva
10. Renato “Babalu” Sobral
This one is their best. But Lil Nog is too high, and why is Thiago Silva top 10? How does beating Houston Alexander and Tomas Drawl and then getting blown out by Lyoto Machida have you top 10? At this point Wandy is behind Rich and Luiz Cane. They should be on this list. LMFAO Thiago Silva above Babalu. Another sign of how lowly respected Babalu is , hes one of this generation best fighters, totally.
MW
1. Anderson Silva
2. Robbie Lawler
3. Yushin Okami
4. Nathan Marquardt
5. Jorge Santiago
6. Dan Henderson
7. Gegard Mousasi
8. Vitor Belfort
9. Kazuo Misaki
10. Yoshihiro Akiyama
Now this is where it becomes abysmal. Robbie Lawler at number 2?????????????????????Shameful. ROBBIE LAWLER HAS NEVER BEATEN AN A LEVEL FIGHTER HIS WHOLE CAREER. Look at the guys last two fights, he fought a solid B level fighter in Scott Smith, and if you add up both fights, you would have to say it was eqaual. As I have said a crapload of times, Robbie is by far the most overated fighter in all of mma. There is no close second. Hendo and Mousasi are top 5, there is no justification to have them outside the top 5. Bisbing and Jacare you could argue deserve to be top 10. And have these guys ever heard of Demaian Maia? This is a joke and its not funny dude.
Welterweights
1. Georges St. Pierre
2. Jon Fitch
3. Thiago Alves
4. Jake Shields
5. Josh Koscheck
6. Matt Hughes
7. Martin Kampmann
8. Carlos Condit
9. Nick Thompson
10. Mike Swick
Nick Thompson has done nothing to warrant such a ranking. Hes fighting B fighters. Matt Hughes, not even a top 20 ww at this point. not even close. Where is Jake Shields? Paulo Thiago is undefeated and just knocked out Josh Koscheck and hes not on this. Right now, the guy is a slam dunk Top 5. This is sad. WW is beyond a doubt the easiest division to rank, and they even f---ed this one up.
Now after you think it was so awful it would get better he is where it actually gets worse.
LW
1. Shinya Aoki
2. Eddie Alvarez
3. B.J. Penn
4. Tatsuya Kawajiri
5. Joachim Hansen
6. Gesias “JZ” Calvancante
7. Kenny Florian
8. Mitsuhiro Ishida
9. Josh Thomson
10. Satoru Kitaoka
BJ Penn lost to a welterweight beast, he has not lost at lw since Jens Pulver who he avenged. BJ Penn is clearly the number lw, as GSP is the number ww. Kitoako needs to be placed higher. Kenny Florian give the man some respect. Eddie and Joachem are way too high. I dont like Sherk, but hes obviously a top 10 lw. Diego Sanchez also.
Can anyone justify these rankings. Am I the only one who sees this as terrible. How can you pretend to know mma and put up these rankings. I guess they only pretend to know mma, and it shows. Totally.

MMA weekly's are generally terrible. last week they had Will Ribeiro(sp?) on the BW list... i honestly couldn't believe it when i saw that. Won't read their lists anymore after reading that.

great/perfect rankings in my opinion.
fedor is clearly number one, all the others in the top ten besides barnett and maybe nogueira in top form are worthy of fighting him.
josh barnett is clearly number two, no denying that. the well rounded japanese pro wrestler is clearly the number one contender for fedor, anyone denying that is brainwashed by white.
mir? he doesnt deserve to be top ten.
arlovski yeah hes number three or four by nogueira.
nogueira is top three or four by arlovski/barnett.
couture? not top ten after that embarrassing loss to lesnar. he almost won but he is not top 20 after that.
sylvia is top five next to nogueira and arlovski. he has nothing to be ashamed of, he gave fedor his all and dominated the ufc hw ranks before going down to nogueira.
crocop, he should be in front or behind sylvia, great fighter and those ufc rules just didnt suit his style. in japan mma he would kill gonzaga. those elbows were illegal against gonzaga and kongo kneed him in the balls. he avenges both losses after his showing against mizuno, clearly. and he put up a fight against the demolition man, overeem who is also top ten.
lesnar is not even top 20 get out of here with that nonsense.
werdum is top fifteen-ten in my opinion, tooled gonzaga big time and vera and showed the ufc hw is a joke to prides former hw in 2005-2006.
my ranks:
1. fedor
2. barnett
3. arlovski
4. nogueira
5. sylvia
6. overeem
7. crocop
8. monson
9. werdum
10. kharitonov

i don't know if you're serious with the comment, but how do you justify Sylvia being 5, but Couture not top 20. Sylvia lost to Nog, Couture, and Emelianenko and barely did anything against Vera, who had a broken hand. That's 4 fights in a row where he's either lost or barely beat an injured fighter. And his last somewhat decent victory was over Jeff Monson, where he just sat on the guy.

You know it's bad when Tim Sylvia posts and can't even bring himself to rank over 5. Closest thing Sylvia gets to #5 is when he orders his value meal at McDonald's.

So did you just call yourself a retard. Cause apparently you stated retarded fans come out to discuss this topic, and you commented on this topic, so by your own words what does that make you?

Success on at least one level, as it's a blatant troll job that people took seriously and replied to.

I do think there are A LOT of problems with these rankings but having Matt Hughes in the Top 10 isn't one of them. I mean he did only lose to GSP and Alves. If he loses to Serra then ya he should be out of the top 10, however if he wins I think he should maintain his spot and fight another guy in the top 10 like Kampmann. Publishing this list was sinful though, these are pretty bad.

I would easily take Hughes over Kampmann any day of the week.

With all due respect I think Matt Hughes would get finished by Martin.
It has nothing to do with him getting demolished by GSP and Thiago.
It has everything to do with his terrible performance against Chris Lytle. He could barely beat Lytle.
He wont get Martin to the ground, and even if he did Martin has better subs and Martin will use movement and mix it up and destroy him on the feet.
Matt Hughes is a mma legend, but in his run, the the quality was poor compared to today.
Matt Hughes against the best of the best never loooked good. In his 5 fight against GSP and Penn he lost 3 and in the 2 he won was getting his *** kicked.
I truly think people overstate how good Matt Hughes was. Everyone bought into that greatest welterweight of al time bs. GSP already has a better ww legacy.
And I even think guys like Hazelettt and Yoshida would take him.

More than a few problems with these rankings
Heavyweights
I don't see how Cro Cop or Sylvia are on this list over the likes of Overeem, Carwin, or even Kongo
Light Heavy
Shogun should be in the top 10 but #5 is a bit high as his two performances before the ko of Chuck were average at best. I might get some heat for this but I also do not think Jardine and his glass jaw should be in the top ten.
Middleweight
Lawler ranked to high and maybe Vitor slighted a bit.
