Forget Honda Housey for a second. This is what I'm really excited for if he makes the jump.
Of course he won't be top 5 unless there are some serious improvements in his game but think how awesome fights with Shogun, Dan Henderson, Nedkov, and even lil Nog or Brandon Vera could be.
Interesting to see how/if it pans out. I think he would get beat by the Rashads and Davis's of the division, hell, put him in against Bader.
He would be beaten by most all wrestlers currently in the LHW division of the UFC. I'm a Gegard fan but I think Brilz could get him down once or twice a round and earn a decision. His striking is good, his submissions are good but he can't really put it all together consistently against top guys.
He could beat all strikers at LHW or MW including Shogun, Machida, and Anderson Silva. I hope he worked on his TDD.
Him vs Gustafson should be an awsome fight.
I hate to pull the "just because he's not in the UFC all the fanboys assume he sucks" card, but I feel like the people on this board generally underrate Mousasi by a wide margin. I think he could make a splash in the division, although JBJ would be an awful, awful matchup for him.

Top guys like Sobral, Hunt, Jacare? Osp is IMO a better takedown artist than Jason Brilz and he did well against him. Besides its not like Mousasi is useless from his back, king mo and jardine fights are examples that even if you get him down he can still hurt you.
Hell yeah goodnightirene.

You would really consider Hunt,Jardine and Sobral top guys, or Jacare when he fought Gegard ? How was Gegard in position to ko Souza again ? OSP while looking good, is far from a top guy at 205 right now.
I stand by my statement. Brilz-dec-3

Yup, if the OSP fight is any indication, it seems like his TDD is improving.

it happened.....and what noob said was true. It has improved..........but OSP isn't anywhere close to the level of the wrestlers in the UFC
Mousasi doesn't have strong wrestling, but it is improving. At the same point-he could and would beat the piss out of most wrestlers off his back. He has one of the best(if not best) offensive striking game off his back in the business(and decent sub game as well) and he takes very little damage doing it. Problem for Mousasi-the current set of rules does not favor him regardless of what the top guy does or doesn't do.
Sometimes I don't get you people. "Let's bring X to the UFC so he could have a boring wrestling match against Y and lose via decision". I see it all the time.
There's a lot of good match ups and a lot of not so good match ups for him in the UFC. Either way, I'd love to see how he'd fair in there with some of the top guys.

The haters would rather see him lose than win. Easier to think of yourself as "up" when you spend so much time putting others down.
