Gegard Mousasi has said he will honour his agreement with Strikeforce following recent reports that his management had misled him about the amount of money the UFC had offered him for his services.
"I am fighting in Strikeforce now and Scott has always been honest to me," Mousasi told Fighters Only today. "I have a contract with Strikeforce and I am going to honor that."
The DREAM double-champion then said that he did not wish to comment on allegations that his management had misled him about the value of the UFC offer.

Shortly after it was reported Mousasi was heading to Strikeforce - in the wake of Affliction Entertainment’s collapse - reports emerged that the UFC had sent a ‘cease and desist’ letter to Strikeforce amid claims that Mousasi had been misinformed about the deal they were offering him.

crazy stuff... but then again, the ufc wouldn't let him fight in the hulk tourny... I think he's better off w\ strikeforce / dream so he can be more active.

they would have let him fight in it if that was one of his conditions, then he would make his ufc debut early 2010

I think Mousasi will rule the LHW at SF/DREAM, and after his contract is up, he'll go to lose against Mauricio Rua in the UFC. that's my prediction.

I'm getting tired of the M1 gangster stories from anonymous sources. How about we get some one on the record.

I spoke to one of the assistant coaches from M-1 and he confirmed it all, but when I called him back to get him on the record, he was...unavailable
I checked his twitter feed and apparently his last tweet was "Oh god no glub glub glub glub"

How pathetic is it that the biggest MMA alliance in the world will make, at best, 10% of the gross income of the UFC? And probably not net a damn thing.
At least with Affliction they had alternate means of income to stay alive with.

I like Strikeforce and Scott Coker, always have, but it seems the Affliction crew has quickly jumped ship and has now traded in their Affliction tshirts for Rockstar caps....

Wait what? What do you want from them? To be magically suddenly huge? They're doing all the right things by slowly and strategically building. There's a big hole in MMA programming that can be filled by a suitable competitor, but it needs to build a grass roots following with solid personalities and great fighters. Check what their income is 2-3 years from now and we'll see if it's still "pathetic". (Which it might be, but this is the only way we're going to develop any competition).

Thats whats funny. The same people that said SF couldnt afford Fedor are the ones wanting SF to be bigger than the UFC now.
This was a comment from awhile back from an unnamed person (i have removed their name to protect them):
And well, after Fedor vs Barnett, WHAT IN THE HELL THERE IS FOR FEDOR IN SF ALONE??? Overeem and then??? Rogers??? give me a break... Vitor could move up on weight and he has babalu, lil nog, soku to fight there.. dude, SF is not YET an interesting ORG for the starts, Fedor in SF?? what the hell is he going to do???
SF does not have the money and more important, IS NOT WILLING (if we consider SF so far business model) to spend huuuge ammounts of money in fighters, so cerantly, SF will not EVER get fedor,
there is a much bigger chance for the UFC to get Fedor than SF.
The two orgs will have to copromote, they did it before, and I dont see why they shouldnt do it now, but alone, SF is no competition for the UFC, and it wont be... and by the way, atencio ALWAYS said that he is open to crosspromtions, affliction business model is not like the UFC's.. so I dont know why you say "they will be force" to crosspromote, when they've done it in the past, and more than anything ARE LOOKING FORWARD to do it again....

And they do have solid personalities and great fighters!! If only they had them occurring just once or twice in the same person!
And I'm not the once screaming from the rooftops about the "biggest MMA alliance" blah blah blah. It's pretty much the claim that Strikeforce/Dream will have a significant impact compared to UFC that makes me laugh.
