It wouldn't surprise me to see him on the New Years Eve card with Fedor. Some Japanese journeyman that Mousasi will dispose of quite easily.

+ 1 I see this happening too. Gegard will get on another big win streak...will eventually get matched up with a legitimate opponent and probably get exposed again. We all know that Gegard has great striking, but his TDD and wrestling is so bad. I want to see him fight Henderson. I think he can redeem himself with a solid win over someone with Dan's pedigree.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "so bad" ... he did work on his TDD and it showed in his fight with Jake O'Brien.
He's a solid fighter for sure, but yeah, I would like to see him tested against the best of the best.
Crazy to think he's had 34 fights already and he's only 25.

I know. The dude has plenty of time to get his wrestling up to par with the the best in the division. And dude, I'm sorry but you can't judge his TDD on that O'Brien fight. I think Jake ate too many potatoes O'Brian before the fight. He came into that fight how many lbs. over weight and shot in for one of the sloppiest takedowns that I've ever seen.

the thing with mousasi is that he got into a bad game plan against King Mo, in the first rounds he let to take him down with the purpose to make damage on his back and he did, since you can see the faces of both and King Mo eyes was closed and mousasi has not damage in his face. the thing is that after the fight goes deep he got bad defense in his TDD and in MMA is more important the wrestling than any other discipline on the judges and scoring system so it was a lost for sure to mousasi.
he is not that bad on his wrestling, that fight was alot of stuff going on, like the bad game plan, him getting tired, and of course King Mo wrestling pedigree.
he will be improve but definiity it will be good to see him taking someone with SF and not more fights in japan to get more easy wins.

Whoever Mousassi faces, will certainly be defeated. Unlikely that anyone in LHW will be able to stop him, short of a world class wrestler.

I was under the impression that O'Brien was a solid wrestler.

Not in that fight he wasn't. I remember a while back that Junkie played the on the main page from HDNet. Try to find it and you'll know what I mean.

Yes he probably will win his next fight, because any other 205er in the world worth a damn fights for the UFC. There's a bunch of light heavyweights over there that could stop him.
