Its a thought but I dont think he'll beat Vargas.
Hes got good boxing, but his power isnt all that good with 6 oz gloves how is he going to do with 13+oz gloves on.

He'll get murked. Vargas isn't great, but he's a boxer. I found it funny that they mentioned he'd be boxing at 168lbs after he was complaining how hard it is to make 170. Diaz needs to just STFU and fight mayhem already. Forget about fighting past their prime boxers and fight some quality competition in MMA.

Nick would get murdered plain and simple. Nick's boxing is just not that good I really dont rate it at all, now his boxing is ok for MMA but in a pure boxing match he would get totally annihilated.

If we're talking boxing, Diaz gets smoked. Granted Vargas has a weak chin but Diaz's advanced patty cake boxing 101 with big gloves on isn't going to get him past a former world champ.

Diaz only chance is if Vargas is already "done" and does not or can not train properly. I know Vargas has also led a hard life and I a guessing his body is much older then his actuall age. He also has a history of steroids so there is a decent chance he is just a shell of his former self. That is the only way Diaz has a chance and it would be sad if that's why he is trying to fight Vargas.

I haven't seen Nick do real boxing yet so maybe there is some thing there that we are all just unaware of. But if you have the Cyborg fight on the PVR give it a rerun. Nick leaves huge holes open when he fights. How many hits did Cyborg land? I have to think a boxer would destroy him.
