Does anyone know if or why Dana White has tried to get Nick Diaz back into the UFC? He's really been on his game in recent years and he's great at being the "Heel". He has looked unstoppablein his last few bouts. Could it be that he's too much of a wildcard or maybe his reefer use. How long is he under contract to Coker & Strikeforce
.

Seems like my boy Nick is content with being a big fish in a small pond for right now

He went 6-4 in the UFC. Losses to Parisyan, Sanchez, Riggs and Sherk. And wins over Jeremy Jackson, Robbie Lawler, Drew Fickett, Koji Oishi, Josh Neer, and Gleison Tibau.

I would love to see him back in the UFC, he's been looking really good as of late.

with diaz you never knew what to expect, he is been really good in his latest fights and he has upgrade his boxing and overall but the thing is that you can expect more of the marijuana stuff and others rare things about him that put you in trouble like it happen for strikeforce the last time and i think this issues will keep him out of the ufc for some time

I think if he moved to MW he do alright in the UFC. He seems to have trouble with strong wrestlers and groundsmen (did i just invent a word!
), and other than Hendo, Marquardt, Pahlares, and Maia (but i'd like to see this fight), i think he could find a place in the UFC MW division. Wandi, Belcher, Sexyama, Quarry, Grove, Cote, Bisping, and Leben would be good matches for Nick. But he would never be champ.

+1 . The UFC wont risk it . Nick Diaz is fun to watch but not worth the risk for the UFC.

lol wtf, what risk??? are you referring to Nick Diaz being a pothead or his public/cage antics????
if you really think the business of the UFC is going to be hurt because Nick Diaz may or may not test positive for weed, you're insane.

Are you implying that i stole that word from you? Or that someone used stealer in this thread? I'm just confused or drunk...or both.

I can see the yahoo.com headline now . . .
"UFC Fighter tests positive for Marijuana"
Not what the UFC (or MMA) needs right now, with how the sport is taking over. Competition wise, Nick Diaz would not last in the UFC middleweight division, not even close. At 170 he could be a tough nut to crack for anybody. At 170, he is a problem.
No reason for the UFC to risk that he may bring them bad publicity when he poses no threat to winning a UFC title or doing anything to advance the product to 'mainstream' fans. Yes, hardcore MMA fans who really pay attention like to watch him fight but in reality, most people have never heard of the guy.
He's just not worth it, risk-wise or salary-wise.

Okay what about Karo testing positive for all of those pills?? And the countless people who have been popped for steroids? They aren't risks but because Diaz puffs a bit of weed he is a much bigger risk???
Don't you think anyone with half a brain would be more aggravated at a fighter who used steroids than a fighter who smokes weed from time to time?

Im sure Nick Diaz is fine where hes at. Probably makes more money, and will probably feel held down if he signs a UFC contract and is told what to do

Why does everybody assume Nick would be competitive at 170? Was it his win over the too hot to handle Scott Smith? Or was it beating up a dinosaur in Frank Shamrock? Nick Diaz has skills and is a decent fighter, but I don't think he is top 5 in the UFC. In fact, I bet there are 10 UFC welterweights that could beat Diaz. Point out to me any opponent that he's faced and beaten since leaving the UFC that is UFC caliber. In fact, point out any opponent that he faced IN the UFC that is contender level at 170 today.

I don't know about 170 but, his victory over no.1 ranked L.W. Takanori Gomi was IMO, one of the greatest MMA fights of all time. I don't care for Nicks smart mouth but, he is almost always in the most exciteing fight of the night in any show & any card. Nick may not ever hold UFC gold in any weight class but, I wouldn't be suprised if he did.

I think what alot of people forget is that Nick Diaz was young when he was in the UFC. He is getting better, not worse, and i would say hes still young.

No they will never book him due to being unreliable because he is a pot head.
Why spend millions in promotion if he is'nt going to play ball?
