After watching the highly controversial Ring/Fukuda fight, I wasn't as shocked by the judges decision as most were. And heres why:
1) Lemme first say that I gave Ring the first round and Fukuda the third. Ring landed a significant amount of leg kicks and stuffed 2 of three takedowns in the first. As for the third...well, it was pretty obvious who won that.
2) As for the second, I believe it was fairly close. Although Fukuda did take Ring down, A) He did nothing significant in Ring's guard B) Ring must have gotten some points for submission attempts C) He was able to push Fukuda off rather quickly
With that being said, perhaps the judges judged this fight in the manner they should have in the Kampmann/Sanchez fight. Ring, unlike Kampmann, was given points a sufficient amount of points for stuffing Fukuda's takedowns. And also, when he was taken down, his ability to spring back up rather quickly must have gone noticed in the judges eyes.

There is no possible way to explain away or justify that decision, no matter how you try to spin it, it was absolute robbery. And I dont toss that word around everytime there is a close decision that goes against my opinion. You are wrong.
