So, there's nothing lined up for next month. No Challengers nor arena shows.... Over two months between Strikeforce shows. Kind of a big gap, if you ask me.

Something i think Zuffa will try and help them out with. Get their big name fighters in the cage more often. Thats the biggest problem SF has IMO

UFC is at least having an event though. And this event is their biggest ever, so I can see how they're only doing one next month, they don't wanna be overdrawn for their biggest event. And they only have a four week gap between 129 and 130, so it's not even that bad. But Strikeforce has a ten week gap between Diaz v Daley and Overeem v Werdum.... Wicked long for the second biggest North American MMA promotion....

It probably has something to do with them being bought by Zuffa. The April shows were planned before, then the June and July show rumours were solidified after the purchase.

+1
The UFC can get a few of their stars onto a Showtime card and get some benefit from SF's remaining contracted shows.

You have to remember that Strikeforce operates differently from the UFC. Strikeforce only runs events when Showtime tells them to. The only reason they were a viable number 2 promotion was because of Showtime's money. Showtime told them what date to have an event and would pay them a good licensing fee for the show and pick up all the TV production costs.
The reason for such a huge gap between Strikeforce shows is because Showtime is going to be extremely busy doing the Pacquiao-Mosely fight. That fight is a huge deal for Showtime. Its there chance to really gain some ground and stick it to HBO. They also have the Ward-Abraham fight a week after the Pacquiao fight. Showtime doesn't have any time to do any MMA shows in May.
