KEEP IN MIND
some changes could be made like maybe extending the time limit of rounds, extending time on specific rounds (like the last round) or just extending the number of rounds per fight (maybe to 4 for non-title matches?). If any of these or another you have in mind might persuade you to favor the format in question, then vote 'yes.'
I really like the idea and it could definitely weed out fighters like Fitch or inspire GSP to not play it safe (technically, he'd probably keep his title if he kept earning draws, but if he accrued a bunch of draws rather than wins, it might hurt his self-esteem enough to make him try harder to finish)
... maybe paydays could also be affected.

i dont think that would work to well. Plus we have seen some dominating 30-27 fights.

So fights like Lesnar-HH or GSP alves should have been draws where the only thing why the fight wasnt won before time ran out is that the losers are pretty tough guys and can take more beating than 20 normal guys combined? These new rules what you invent smoking weed are not so brilliant, there should be some detectors in computers so ppl couldnt use them while stoned.

Don't get me wrong... there are some great fights where one fighter dominated the other person, but couldn't finish.
But here is my response:
1. If they had maybe one more round (i.e., 4 rounds) it would increase the likelihood that they'd finish the job
2. Those kinds of dominant victories aren't as common as boring LnP fights.
This would mean that every once in a while, a good fight that didn't finish would result in a talented fighter earning a DRAW (which would be sad), but OVERALL, it'd bring up the game of the entire sport.
I'm not suggesting there is a perferct system, but I think this kind of thing would result in better cards.

Then give them another round....
Also... pick any PPV event and you'll notice that on average, the travesty of a boring fight where a fighter is really fighting the clock is more common than what would be a travesty of a dominant fighter winning but not finishing (and again, we could just give them another round).
For instance, we already know GSP can finish and we know he's admitted to playing it safe... my rules would allow him to remain the champion, but it'd give him more motivation to actually finish a fight.

Was that bolded line a sentence? If you're going to attempt to insult somebody's intelligence, make sure you don't make an *** out of yourself in the process.
Obviously you must be on drugs....

Holy crap again. MMA is fine as it is. There are some guys that are not very entertaining when they fight and you have a say in it, you can choose to pay for the event or not. No need to make ridiculous *** rules.
I can think of so many fights that were extremely one sided or very exciting and would not have been finished with "1 more round". Fighters records would look insane.
Fedor would be 24-2-7
Anderson would be 20-4-7
Penn would be 12-2-8
Chris Lytle would be 24-2-25 as opposed to 29-17-5

No, the judges just need to stop meriting control alone as winning a fight, so fighters that are obviously trying to stall and make no continous effort to finish are not gifted wins.

The absolute only difference would be that we see a hell of a lot more draws, not everybody who goes to decision goes in there with the game plan of winning a decision.

Sorry my english aint perfect but atleast im not trying to make rules with no sense to them. And why this constant asking "make better one yourself" there is no need to make new rules where did you get the memo that someone must make a new rule??? Im dying to know. Mma is fine as it is its growing its fan base daily there is no need to force draws. No sport should even have draws the winner is what people come to see. And now you want to change rules so there would be less and less winners. I seriously doubt youre on some kind of drugs.

Isn't this the rule in the WWE?
Enough said.

Not as good, but funny, most people wouldn't say he's as good as the last two
That would be like when they removed Goal Tending from basketball and said it would ruin the past records of old players...
NOBODY did that.
Their past records wouldn't change, only the evolution of the sport.

Good....
Not to mention your argument is completely irrational... you are applying a NEW rule to old matches... if those same fighters had the NEW rules in mind, things would have certainly gone differently

Youre a jackass. Everyone has their right to an opinion, but this is one of the most stupidest things I have seen on these forums. I like to think that if someone goes out of their way to sign up on an mma forum they have some time of knowledge/common sense about the sport, but that doesnt appear to be the case. And im the irrational one....really?

"So" implies intention... That's the not the reason for my idea and explained what my reason was... maybe you SHOULD learn some English.

Let's apply that logic to other things...
"You must be human to compete in the WWE"
"Isn't this the rule in the WWE? Enough said"
"You must wear clothes to compete"
"Isn't this the rule in the WWE? Enough said"
"You can't use weapons"
"Isn't this the rule in the WWE? Enough said"
I can go on and on
Really.. does anybody here have any intelligent rebuttles because this is just getting embarassing.

Explain why it's stupid then (you haven't done that yet). BTW... this opinion isn't that uncommon... try googling first.

You haven't demonstrated why I lack that sense... you've just resorted to bad arguments and name-calling.

Im calling you a jackass because you keep acting like a jackass in every post, or maybe a smartass is a better word.
You keep asking for explanations and keep saying why for every little thing, read the responses you got in your thread as to why your idea is horrible. Youre probably going to ignore everything I see here and just say "but why am I a smartass, can you explain it for me."
You presented your idea, everyone told you it is horrible. Now just let it go.

Yes they do... if that weren't the case, then there wouldn't be HUNDREDS of draws in the sport.

Everyone? You mean LESS THAN 10 people?
As I've said earlier in this thread... "my" idea isn't that uncommon and if I'm not mistaken...
THERE ARE MMA LEAGUES THAT EMPLOY THIS RULE

Here is a quick example then for you, since everything needs to be explained to you.
UFC 117 Dos Santos completely dominates Nelson on the feet for 3 rounds. Obviously he tried to finish Nelson but couldn't. Should that be considered a draw?
