i just found out that the reason that you seem to be pissed off in the morning is because your dehydrated!
suprised me too but if you wake up and immediately down a bottle of water or a glass of it you seem to instantly wake up and get goin...AMAZING!

"When you get up in the morning you are dehydrated from going 6-9 hours without any liquids. Before you leave for work, or before you eat breakfast, drink a full glass of cool (not cold) water. It will hydrate you, wake you up, and even make you a little fuller so you will not feel the need to eat as large a breakfast. Some people even find they no longer need coffee when they drink a glass of water in the morning."
most of the things im finding are for dieting. Anyway. Im so groggy and grumpy getting up at 4 everyday, im going to start trying this and see how it works.

I find this topic interesting and true.
I suppose "breaking the dam" and "releasing the river" first thing in the a.m. is an indication that all your fluids are used up.
nothing like a morning whiz with the door open.
i usually drink powerade right away in the morning followed by an overpriced energy drink when i get to work, never been a coffee guy.

I have heard the water/dehydrated thing before. I mean, after all you aren't taking in any fluids for damn near 8 hours. But regardless, I am still a grump in the mornings.

Thing is i get up at the very least once a night and walk to my fridge and drink water, juice, milk, or something along those lines. And i still wake up tired as can be. I just dont think there is anything i can do to make myself happy to be awake at 4 in the morning.

I hear that. I think a lot of it has to do with my mind set "get up, dress my son, pack lunches for everybody, drop off son at daycare, go to work, pick up son...etc, etc" the weekends I am almost always in a good mood.

depends on the night. Last night i went to sleep at 12:30. The night before i was asleep by 9. It never really mattered how much sleep i get though. If i get ten hours of sleep and wake up at 4 im still not a happy camper.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm usually only ever pissed off in the morning cause I have to get up, not cause I'm thirsty. I tend to never eat breakfast or drink anything though so I'm used to it.

I find that uptempo music gets me going in the morning, especially for the mundane tasks of getting dressed, tooth brushing, etc.

This may sound like psuedo-science BS, but for me, it's true.
For some reason, coffee started making me throw up like a banshee in the morning. Even though that was usually the highlight of my day, I had to quit. Now, I drink several glasses of water instead of coffee. It took a while, but it seems to have the same effect that coffee used to have. Now, a glass or two of cold water, and I'm as ready to go as last years "three cups of coffee" me.

I had a glass of water before I walked to work this morning and I actually do feel better than I usually do when I first get here.
Could be placebo effect though, or an intervening variable.
We may never know.
