I think the "Brawl" after the fight was unnecessary just like everybody else. Regardless of who was at fault for starting the altercation. I think that we are crucifying the Diaz brothers for their part in the "Brawl" when in reality they are not the first ones in MMA to do something stupid in or around the Octagon. Lets look back at Crazy Horse Bennete and the countless stupid things he did either in the ring, backstage or on the streets. He's locked up isn't he? Or what about Don Frye I recall a video floating around the net of him getting into a huge fight in a casino and getting KO'D; nobody seemed to care too much even though it was the same sort of crime so to speak. Oh and what about Rampage and his high speed chase? Didn't he cause a woman to lose her baby? Why hasn't the MMA Community asked for his license to be pulled or for Rampage to wear special color trunks when he is at events (I saw that in another thread)? Or how about Chuck Lidell, getting drunk and making an *** out of himself at UFC events? Or at the bar when there may be someone who is new to mma around and may judge the sport based on his antics. I, by the way have seen him at a bar in San Luis Obispo trashed to the point where the bartender had to cut him off. I feel we need to lay off the Diaz boys a little. Because hey, its not like they're kindergarden teachers, they are FIGHTERS and if they were "normal" they probably wouldn't be fighters the would have a real job like you and me.

Have any other fighters gang-attacked someone on national TV? Have any other fighters been televised kicking a man that had several people holding him down?

people are just mad b/c they are both smart asses and they kick ***. If they got there asses kicked all the time people would prolly just say o they get theres. Prime example is krazyhorse he's prolly the biggest dumass in mma history next to war machine but he gets his *** kicked a lot so p[pl let it go.

Best of my knowledge, this wasn't exactly Nick's first unauthorized brawl, either. If he doesn't want this kind of attention, all he has to do is not attract it.

How do you know no one cared when Krazy Horse got into fights, or when Don Frye fought in a casino? Were you around in 2002? I'd be willing to bet people did talk about how stupid Krazy Horse is. And no, Rampage did not cause the woman to lose her baby. Yes, he did hit a pregnant woman's car. But she was not hurt and didn't lose her baby until like a week or more after the Rampage thing happened.
The reason people are blaming the Diaz brothers today, is because the things they do happen today. Not 8 years ago.
Also, the examples you gave of Rampage and Chuck acting a fool, they were out and about on their own time. They weren't fighting people in ring during an event live on national television.

The answer is no. But if I recall didnt Ken Shamrock try and attack Tito after he beat Guy Mezger. And the only difference between this incident and Don Frye's is that it was televised. What about Brock Lesznars WWE moment in the ring after he beat Frank Mir. I mean the list goes on but to say it was a gang beating is a little much watch the brawl again and it was Gilbert Melendez who started it not the Diaz guys.

Another difference is that Frye didn't attack someone that was being held down by several other people. Yes, some blame should go the person that started the brawl, but there is a big difference between pushing someone vs kicking someone that was being held down by several other people.

The reason I know that nobody really cared is because there wasn't post after post of Don Frye bashing or mma radio shows dedicating almost 45 mins to a 2 min brawl? And i''ve been watching mma since before it was cool.

Probably then, because not a lot of people know or really care who Don Frye is anymore. He's not in the spotlight much, and he hasn't gotten into fights during an event while on national TV multiple times. He also hasn't been part of 4 or more guys that beat 1 guy while on national TV.

Thanks I didnt know he was out of jail I thought they gave a harsher punishment for domestic violence and strangling his girlfriend or aggravated battery with grievous bodily harm at the site of his current team, the FIT NHB Gym in Albuquerque! Hasnt he been arrested like 25 time since 1997?

May we have a source with a little more credibility than someone's personal youtube project?

Nick Diaz has been in 3 post fights brawls. One in each organization.
1. UFC: In the hospital with Joe Riggs after a UFC event.
2. Elite XC in Hawaii.
3. Strikeforce this weekend.
Nate Diaz kicking Mayhem when Nick Diaz and a bunch of other people were holding him down, was so cheap and thuggish.
The Diaz brothers are good fighters but aren't the best representatives of the sport.

Yeah remember Coleman stomping a downed Wanderlei. What did Coleman want to keep fighting Shogun with his one dislocated arm?

Ok so lets crucify them for being bad represenatives for the sport when all these other fighters that i've named are doing things just as bad. What about that pic of Matt Hughes when he wore that white power shirt excellent representation of the sport
