I hate when someone young dies and they don't tell you why. The media is so concerned about the family's privacy they don't even bring up the topic in the report. Just that a 40 year old super healthy celebrity dropped dead this morning and what a tragedy it is. All the time knowing that every single person watching is asking the same questions... How?? It is bad journalism to just ignore the giant elephant in the room. At least say the cause of death has not been disclosed yet. Give some kind of a CYA statement.

Sorry for the rant... this is a pet peeve of mine lol. Poor death announcements.

I disagree, they don't post it when it's not confirmed, and rumors about cause of death is not journalism

And when everybody dies half the comments are "it's the covid vaxx!!!" because why not let's just say stuff

No, I'm not saying speculate but they need to at least say 'the cause of death has not been disclosed by the family'. Something! They absolutely have to say something because a 40 year old HOF 'athlete' in his sport randomly dropping dead is not a normal circumstance. So at least acknowledge the fact that the entire audience watching has the same question, even if you aren't going to answer it. Not addressing it and acting like it is taboo to even mention is bad journalism.

I'm not sure what reports you've seen, but the ones I've read have plenty of discussions about the possible cause of death. He was hospitalized with a severe illness, and died there. He's previously on record complaining during a recent race about needing a doctor after he gets off track, reportedly due to a sinus infection and/or sever cough issue of some sort. We don't have all the answers (nor should we), but it seems they aren't ignoring it, they've reported what they know and what they don't know.

Yeah I just read an article in the Daily Mail that had all this info too. They did it correctly. You know who didn't? SportsCenter. They did a break in and then a 10 minute sob piece interview with one of his friends about what a terrible tragedy this is and not once did anyone mention what may have happened. Over and over about how tragic though. This is definitely not the first time I've noticed this with celebrity deaths as evidenced by my ire about it lol.
