So lets continue on with the P4P list. I think from here on out it will start to get more interesting a create more convo since the majority of people believe AS and GSP are 1 and 2. Now we have more debatable spots and different people will start to get mentioned.
This will also be the last time I use the poll if everyone is ok with that. I just figure there will start to be too many names and it will just be easier to write it in.
With that said here is how the voting went down for the #2 spot:
Georges St. Pierre 26 votes
Cain Velasquez 9 votes
Jon Jones 7 votes
Jose Aldo 5 votes
The List so far:
#1. Anderson Silva
#2. Georges St. Pierre
So now time to start voting for the #3 spot on the list....

Cain. He's freaking wasting guys and making good heavyweights look like amateurs.
To be honest Homminick, while tough and game as they come, isn't a top ten 145er

Well I think he is pretty good. I think people judge Aldo too much on this fight. He was coming off an injury and still out pointed him in all rounds except the last. He has also ran through every single person he has faught since being in the WEC

Yeah, Aldo is out of this world but I want him to take on Mendes or Florian because I think the FW division is a little weak.
I just can't see anyone stopping Cain's take downs or submitting him off there back.
Carwin is the worst match-up if his cardio is up to par

What has Mendes done that Mike Brown or Urijah Faber havent done? He destroyed both guys and even if the comp isnt the greatest, he has absolutely killed them.

Faber was alternating wins and loses before he fought Aldo.
Mendes is undefeated and imo a horrible match up
Florian fought for the belt twice.
neither one has faced the best competition but i have been more impressed with Cain, that's all

#5 Cain Velasquez
#6 Frankie Edgar
#7 Dominick Cruz

Silva

Cain
Edgar

I can't even rank 8-10 it's a jumbled mess of Melendez, Fitch, Shields, Evans, Maynard, Penn
Jst imo

I think Jones' wins are better than Cain's looking back at them in retrospect. Cain's has wins over Kongo (Got rocked really bad in the fight) Ben Rothwell (who hasn't been doing anything in the heavyweight division as of late), Big Nog (shown that his best days are behind him in his last few fights), and Brock. I think Lesnar is the most impressive win there, but its clear to everyone Lesnar has huge holes in his game.
Jon Jones on the other hand as been ripping apart everyone who steps in his path. He absolutely destroyed Matt Hamil even though he lost by DQ. With a win over Rampage Hamil is right back in the mix. He absolutely destroyed Ryan Bader who I believe is in the top 10, Bader's only loss coming to Jones. And he absolutely destroyed Shogun, a guy who is consistently ranked in the top 10 for Light Heavyweight and formally ranked in the top 10 pound for pound.

Big Nog was near the top when Cain beat him and he didnt just get a decision like everyone who beats Nog does, he KOed the s--- out of him. He then goes on to destory Lesnar. I personally dont think Shogun is as great as he used to be.
Its also hard when Cain and Jones havent defended their titles yet. Edgar has 2 title defenses but one came from the guy he took it from and the other ended in a draw. For me those 3 are a toss up and I would almost put Cruz above them all as of right now

I think Cains are better. You can look at any fighters list of wins and discredit them.
But Jones skipped over half the division due to injuries and perfect timing. He obviously deserved it but the 205 strap is a hot potato and he is much.more likely to lose it.
The division has Evans, Machida, Griffin, Rampage, Davis, Silva, etc.
Cains only threats are JDS and maybe if the Reem comes over.
I just think Jones has more legit challenges to face and someone will find a hole in his game, ala Machida.
Rothwell:IFL 9-0 beat Nelson
Nogueira
ride and UFC HW Champion
Lesnar: UFC HW Champion
Kongo: Was 7-2 in the UFC, beat Cro Cop
Not bad

I dunno about that again. Nog has been riding on his name and legendary status for awhile in my opinion, to the point where fans get jaded of his actual recent accomplishments. Since coming back to the UFC Nog has beaten Herring, Sylvia and Couture. Two guys who aren't with the company anymore and a 45 year old (at the time) light heavyweight. I don't think that is better than Shogun's resume.

Why put other people up there that arent going to get many votes anyway? How many P4P lists have somebody outside of the UFC or a non champ in the top 3?

Jon Jones takes it for me, mostly because he has destroyed everyone in the toughest division....Aldo fights in a weak division

I voted Dominick Cruz.
Great striking, incredible footwork, great wrestling.

While Velasquez is one of of 3-4 favorite fighters, I think its a little to early to anoint him the next juggernaut, especially when his biggest win is Lesnar. Give him a few title defenses and if he is still putting a hurtin on these bigger guys then by all means, anoint away.
Since GSP cant be #1 on this poll, Ill order these guys like this.
1. Silva
2. GSP
3. Edgar: for beating the best LW in history 2x's and he could by all means be fighting at FW.
4. Aldo
How I have it so far.

Nine people voted for Cain to be #2 so I better at least see nine votes for Cain when this is said and done.
If you have Cain as #2 but in the poll was beat out by GSP then you should vote for Cain as #3. Correct?
