i couldn't find good punk for a while, then you realize it's always there if you look hard enough. over the winter probably found well over 30 beyond amazing, new good complete albums.
This song is so awesome. it's that's hipster sound from years ago, but it's now it's not "cool, trendy, edgy" lyrics, it's back to angry punk rawkness.

and small bands, know how to produce good sounding music, and are so musically talented now, they can combine punk, metal, hard core so much better than they used to. a lot of it,even if it's not your style, you can "wow".

And of course the 90s, that had it all, 70's bands 80's bands got their extra runs to cash in years later on what they started, while every level of punk could be found. an oldy but goodie.

Cant see em at work since Youtube is blocked but if there is a single f**kin Green Day vid in your listing you lost any cred  There were many local bands that kept true punk alive and actually I shoulda said 2000s
but there was a s**t ton of pop punk crap
in the late 90s that people called punk, like many of the grunge bands.

You listed Ramones as real punk yet they are probably the most pop punk band of all time. And Are you trying to tell me Nirvana isn't punk just because they were classified as grunge by the media?

The Ramones did have some pop in them, but they helped define punk in every sense.
Nivrana is grunge. I don't need to hear what media says. Different style of music, different style of lyrics. Differenty lifestyle. Different everything.
They did have some punk influence in their music, but I don't think you can define them as that. That's just me though. Everyone has their own opinions on who they is what.

14th Annual Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival is slated for May 25th-28th in downtown LV. I went to one day last year and it was a really solid time.
Check it out---http://www.punkrockbowling.com/
Really solid line up, just announced that Sham 69(first time on the west coast in 11 years) and GBH are added to the line up!

Totally agree Coey, thanks for savin me the time. FWIW on Nirvana Dave Grohl was asked the punk question in Rolling Stone when he had formed the Foos and he stated that Nirvana was not punk, influenced to an extent yes but not punk. To say the Ramones were pop says to me you have not listened to much beyond Sedated and Blitzkreig Bop if you think they were pop, they are considered by musicians, writers, A&R and all other aspects of music to be one of the founders of Punk and moreso US punk.

The Ramones didn't set out to be 'punk'. They were just 'bad' musicians trying to play rock n roll in matching leather jackets. Were they punk? Most certainly.
Kurt Cobain was influenced by punk. He wrote all the music if I recall right. But was it punk? Not really. He was also heavily influenced by the Pixies quiet and loud style but they sure don't sound like Frank Black and the crew.

I know a little bit about The Ramones being they're are one of my favorite bands. And their biggest influence was the Beach Boys and that was the style they strived for. Although this was before selling out had a stigma attached to it, it was their dream too make it big and be pop icons like the Beach Boys.
Is my point The Ramones weren't punk, No. My point is that punk bands can have a "pop sound" and still be punk. Like a lot of the 90's bands.
And I know the music of Nirvana doesn't quite have the punk sound in all of their songs but if what Nirvana was, stood for, and did wasn't punk then we need to redefine Punk Rock.
