, it seems like this board is at peace since phoenixmma and andre3000 left. The other major posters who went to that "other" board were nice and ok guys, but the biggest thing "missing" since those guys left......pointless, childish, drama.

that's where.
i miss them both too. they brought drama, but not always the dumb kind of drama that blue talks about. TWS is much more reasonable than most gave him credit for, and WTH was down right hilarious.
i've said it before and i'll said it again: -P has much more radical politics than both of them.

Ah, that post didn't make sense to me when I first read it. I'm pretty sure he meant to say "lurking" there. "Trolling" doesn't really fit the context of his sentence.
+1 to everything else you said.

^^^ i read it as he was trolling, but that he thinks real posting means not stirring up s--- for the sake of it (aka trolling).
but you could be right.

There was a time, probably June or before that there was not much drama or unpeace I should call it.
...
The OT's at forums often gets run over by groups of posters that seemingly run the show more or less in the OT. I think this happend in the old regime with Andre, Phx, and others and its kinda happening against with SWW, Copper, and others.
Its not to say thats a bad thing, but I do think ultimately as we get more well rounded posters and a larger mix back into the OT that ultimately it will grow stronger.

Well, since I'm in the "new regime", and drama is a new thing, then I have to assume that my presence, and that of remaining members is directly related to this "drama". Or did I misunderstand?
I think most of us address other members politely and if something is in jest, we make that clearly known. I have no hatred for anyone here and, as the expression goes, I would gladly have a beer with anyone here (though I'm not a huge drinker).
As seen by this very thread, I am the target of hazing on occasion, but I take that in stride.
If there is any sort of regime here, it's the admin/mod staff. They decide who has broken site rules and who should be warned, suspended or expelled. If any of us, who regularly frequent this site are abusive, then we deserve the same treatment.
I enjoy this site because it meshes the Junkie Radio show, which I listen to faithfully, with the front-page articles and comments, with the General MMA section, with OT, which is an area with greater freedom, and so on.
Have I posted more pictures than most, possibly all other individual members? It's very likely. But I won't post a "booty" photo on a thread about Mask's death, and I won't post a Bellator GIF on a WEC thread, etc. Some threads are image depositories (such as the Motivational Posters which existed well before I started contributing).
I care for what happens to our "cyberfriends", some of whom I've met, and some of whom I'll eventually meet.
When Andre disappeared for a while, and I was told that it was related to a case he was prosecuting, I was concerned for his safety, as I'm sure were others here.
Some of you have had marital, parental or personal health problems, and that's when it's time to get together and drop the playful act.
A lot of interaction is public and some of it is private. I enjoy the fact that people from so many cultures and countries have so much in common.
We lost Weeman not to long ago and that should put things in perspective, or should have.
I don't understand why so much effort is spent in territorialism. No one runs this place or that place (other than the people who pay for the equipment and anyone in their employ). The rest of us are guests and should act accordingly.

I actually think you misunderstood my posts. OT's are typcially run by a group of posters which is usually a good thing. Its the core posters of an OT that run the show and keep the OT going even during slow times. I was simply pointing out the groups (Phx, Andre, Meat) who kinda ran it before and you, SWW, SW, Rocklobster, and others are kinda part of the new regime since they moved on. I think the larger this group gets the stronger the OT becomes. Because more new posters see the good fun posters can pick at each other and enjoy and stuff while not taking things to seriously because of how well you know each other.
I think most of us address other members politely and if something is in jest, we make that clearly known. I have no hatred for anyone here and, as the expression goes, I would gladly have a beer with anyone here (though I'm not a huge drinker).

I agree, and it anything thats my point. That ultiamtely the core here lost a large amount of posters (for better or worse I am not here for that debate, simply commenting based off whats here) I think Ot's can create relationships that last for years. There are guys at Weekly I have posted with for years andsome I have met on 2 or 3 occasions.
As seen by this very thread, I am the target of hazing on occasion, but I take that in stride.

I think if you read the other thread, I said I thought you kinda got unfairly brought into it based off peoples opinion on you getting nominated. Its not your fault and was never an indictment of you but more a disagreement on nominations by another poster. Sometimes that can turn into a very grey area.
If there is any sort of regime here, it's the admin/mod staff. They decide who has broken site rules and who should be warned, suspended or expelled. If any of us, who regularly frequent this site are abusive, then we deserve the same treatment.

Think what you like, but the posters are the regime, and they should be. They are what shape a forum and they are what cause it to continue to grow. The word regime was not used in a negative way, but simply a reality of most places like this. I think a place with no regime is a bad thing as then you just have anarchy and the mods have a nightmare (see July or August through November).
I enjoy this site because it meshes the Junkie Radio show, which I listen to faithfully, with the front-page articles and comments, with the General MMA section, with OT, which is an area with greater freedom, and so on.

I love this site. Regardless of what others think or where others go, you f----ers arent getting rid of me. I came to this site because of the high level of respect I have for certain people here and the place has grown on me. While some may group me in with others, I hope everyone realizes that I came from another forum where I had 40k posts when I started posting here. I am here for the long haul and enjoy the people here just like I enjoy people at weekly. The reality that some have moved on is there, and I hate being in the middle of stuff as I get along with most everyone.

They certainly are, and I dont think anyone has a problem with you posting picture. Its not my thing, but thats why I am an individual. I may have opinions of nominations or other things, but that in no way is an indictment of anyone here it is simply my opinion. I dont know that much about most of the people now posting on the OT honestly, but that doesnt mean I dont wanna get to know them better. I think sometimes its easy to take things as an attack against a person when in fact they are more a disagreement about an idea.
When Andre disappeared for a while, and I was told that it was related to a case he was prosecuting, I was concerned for his safety, as I'm sure were others here.

I agree 1 hundred percent. The number of prayers I have said for people I dont know, or tears I have shed over the loss of internet friends (weeman, Ryan Bennett, and others) is insane when you think about it from an outside perspective till you start to realize that a lot of these people online know you better then some of your friends due to the interaction you have with them.
I don't understand why so much effort is spent in territorialism. No one runs this place or that place (other than the people who pay for the equipment and anyone in their employ). The rest of us are guests and should act accordingly.

Again, people do run this place, and thats not said in a negative way. The people here build the community, and in a community there are people that are looked at much more closly then others. There are people because of their place in a community that people pay more attention to. Most of the time its because of respect or understanding of that person because you are comfortable with that person or you see that others respect that person. The word regime was never said in a bad way, but in a way that hey, you have to realize you may be running the show even if you dont realize it.

Nice post CH and BB. Seeing as I am a very specific person, this helps me understand your positions here. Mainly you BB, I think I get CH.
I for one am looking forward to a new (full) year of junkie and a bigger broad of posters.

That $10,000 money order is on its way, from my Nigerian bank account.
Make sure and mail me back the $9,000 (you can keep the change).

It was close, but I wished rock Happy Hogidays a week ago, and he responded in kind. Then I sent you and SWW my best wishes at Christmas and got no response. I was so deeply hurt that it tipped the scales. You still make me laugh, but the laughter is bitter now, and makes me want to listen to Smokey Robinson...
