uh-oh.
anyone got any cold fusion reactors in their basement?
what about the dude from Carleton Place (just outside of Ottawa) who created a device that MIT investigated as a perpetual motion machine, but has yet to refute (AFAIK).

Some schlub in Canada could not have proven Einstein wrong, perpetual motion is impossible!
Or it isnt and as with most things in science, theories from decades or longer ago have not the ability to account for things they simply did not have the ability to theorize.

In this house, we obey the laws of thermodynamics!

thanks for the link Arch - I hadn't heard anything since Zahn's "interesting" comment a couple of years back.

just like that patent clerk who proved Newton wrong (about the nature of time, at any rate). I appreciate your criticism & comments Reako, however, there is something to be said for the innovation of someone from outside a field of study - as they haven't been taught what is universally accepted, and therefore don't limit themselves in the same way (that's not to say these characters are common - I think they show up every few centuries, and many remain silent).
at any rate, perpetual motion is there along with 0-point energy. 't would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath.
As for Uranium, Canada's currently producing the most, but Australia has the most reserves (last time I checked).

The sarcasm appearently did not come across in my post *grin*
There will always be challengers to "known" physicis. Many if not most will be proven wrong until one of them is proven right. The common fallacy we have specifically in the world of physics is that what we know is definate and no one will ever come up with something unconcieved of before. Man could never fly, man could never reach space, man could never cure polio, man could never do any of the things we have done in history, until someone did it.
