Very humbled interview, the best I've ever seen from Daley. He gained a little bit of respect from me for this interview, whereas I had zero respect before. Good interview!

Wow, excellent interview, thanks Magnet! I will say, I lost nearly all of my respect for Daley after he punched Koscheck after the fight, but I've slowly started to gain more and more respect for him, and I think it's close to the point where Daley is becoming one of my favorite fighters again. He wasn't bitching about the stoppage or anything, he gave his thoughts on the fight, and I agree with him wholeheartedly. Gotta give Daley his respect, him and Diaz went to war. Hope to see him come back strong, and I think he was humbled from this loss, which is also a good thing. Can't wait to see him fight again!

I can understand what he means by only 3 sec left but Big John doesn't look at the clock. I think Diaz would have ended it early second anyway. I think Daley needs a tune up like Cyborg and then back to the top.

Early stoppage?
GTFO cemtex. You couldn't stand on your own, the fight was over. There would have been no different outcome. Had they let the fight goto round 2, he wouldn't have recovered anyhow and would have gotten finished.

also... for any of the diaz haters.... Koscheck had the last title shot against GSP off of a lackluster decision win over Daley. Diaz finished Daley, so it would be logical to have Diaz be in line to fight GSP.

Cyborg beats Daley? Doubt that one. I think it looks like Daley's fight with Scott Smith, maybe even more brutal of a finish.

I agree somewhat, but then I'm all for fights being stopped to late, over early stoppages. :twisted: Championship fights even more so.
People can say he wouldn't have made it threw the second, that's irrelevant. We'll never know because it was stopped.I'll bet alot of people were thinking Frankie was done in the second also, before it started, look what happened.

I like this guy.
The more I hear from Daley, the more I like em. Maybe it's the accent, but I find him to have really sensible and engaging responses in his interviews.
I know I'm supposed to hate him for the "sucker punch," but I think I could get passed that bit of indiscretion. Mistakes happen.
I think I'm a Paul Daley fan. I hope he does get back on track for another title shot.

As far as the stoppage
with 3 seconds left, I've gone back and forth on this. I didn't have a real issue with it, but I could see the rationale of "giving the fighter" those 3 seconds.
John McCarthy can be a bit stringent at the expense of the fight (see: Tito's
win
versus Rashad)

Well at least I'm still at even +/-
Can't argue with that fact^^^, but you can argue with the people saying he would have lost the second anyways, because know one will ever know.
(although I'm not going to argue that point, because i've already stated, I'm for late stoppages over early stoppages regardless of who, what & how it's happening, anyday)

argument really less valid than the argument that
Daley could have survived till the end of the round
?... which coulda meant maybe 4 or 5 more shots to his head.
(BTW, I'm with you about preferring late stoppages to early stoppages, in general)

Imo it is less valid, if only for the fact that Daley was not KtFo cold, those shots looked worse than they could have been, because some were missing.
