I kind of expected this.
From all the issues that the colts have, to the massive contract that Luck will get, to the signing bonus and potential contract for Manning just spells a lot of troubles.
Colts need money to get key players around Luck. Having both Manning and Luck would have made things really hard.

Honestly, my biggest fear with Peyton, is now the history now of injuries, and his age.
36 years old, 4 neck operations. And, with the nerve issues that are being explained, we don't know exactly WHERE Peyton is at with his recovery either. And, a quick youtube clip doesn't tell the whole story either.
And, both Peyton and Irsay could of grown up, push the ego's aside, and redo that deal that Peyton got. A $28mil roster signing bonus is just plain crazy. Knock that down a LOT, maybe redo some of his deal, and allow Luck to learn from a master. Instead, we had 2 grown men, talking back and forth with some nonsense "I can do this!", "No you can't!".
All that said, it's gonna be fun to see where he goes, and when.

The neck is still a huge issues. It's good to hear he's throwing the ball hard again, but like you said, seeing a very short clip of him throwing doesn't really do justice. That being said, if Manning can eventually get to the point where the neck/nerves is strong and don't bother him, I think he has some good football in him yet. He hasn't taken a ton of damage over the course of his career like other QB's that were near or around his age.
I didn't like the drama between the two either. However, I would put more blame on Irsay. Originally he was mad that Manning spoke in public about all the firings that were happening. Irsay wasn't happy with that so Manning made an apology and sounded real sincere. Then we have Irsay basically saying to media a bunch of BS over and over and over.
Manning has already said he is willing to structure his deal so it's based on how well he plays/how many games he plays as well.
This is the right choice, imo. Luck should start right away like Manning right away. If the Colts are serious about getting back to winning ways they really couldn't have afforded both guys, especially if Manning played really well.
