He is trying soooo hard to talk his way to a title shot. He wants there to be beef between him and Jon so bad but I don't think Jon really gives a rats @ss what Phil has to say honestly. Phil should focus on beating Rumble and THEN start campaigning for a title shot because a flaunty win over machida who is now a middleweight ain't gonna do it.

But it really is too bad Cormier has a fight lined up for UFC 175. I would have LOVED to have seen Davis vs. Cormier to see who has the best wrestling in the UFC.

I wouldn't say Davis is top 5, he got dominated in wrestling against Rashad Evans.

I think he'd take Phil's spot honestly. Phil's wrestling only seems to work well against lower tier guys, his wrestling is a lot less successful when he gets a step up in competition a la Lil Nog (Couldn't get the double on him, had to resort to the single leg) Rashad, and Machida

I think he is trying hard talking because him Winning fights against Ranked opponent's has not seemed to be enough. Sad to say that but this is the UFC.

Not sure if anyone saw DW's scrum but he called out Phil Davis saying it didn't seem like he wanted to be "the guy" at LHW. He just kind of fights but never acts like he wants to be the champion and is just happy to be ranked #4 in the LHW division. This might be a direct result of those comments.
