Wanderlei does belong on the list, but if you guys want to continue to worship a beaten weathered man who is years past his prime but they keep parading his leatherface out to the octagon only to get KTFOed again that is your perogative. I understand about his past acomplishments, but to keep arguing that he is relevant to the current LHW MMA scene today is ridicoulousness on its highest level.

This always bugs me. By your logic, a fighter can no longer have any fans once he's passed his prime. That's bulls---. Not everyone wants to be a fair weather fan, jumping from bandwagon to bandwagon. Some of us are loyal to our favorites in good times and bad. He'll probably never be a champion again but so what?

I don't care if you are a fan of Wanderlei til the day he dies. His past bouts have earned him credit and respectibility, but Silva fans act like this guy is Ali, that he somehow revoltunized the sport. And they constantly consider him a contender. How are you a contender if you have lost 4 of the last 5 and been knocked out in 3 of them? No one is saying you can't be a fan, but he's not the godfather of MMA. This is similar to Griffey Jr going back to the Mariners, yes it's nostaglic, yes it's good for ticket sales, but in the end it doesn't make them a better team. Just like Wanderlei doesn't make the UFCs LHW any better. He's washed up. My problem is not with the fans who think he was great, my problem is the fans that still think he's great.
