Ok, so during the GSP v. Dan Hardy fight, I commented that the ref was doing a good job not stopping the fight when Hardy was in those subs. I said "GSP doesn't want to break it, he keeps looking up at the ref like " hey man, are you going to stop this".. And then my friend called me an idiot saying refs will not stop fights unless the fighter taps or passes out or bone is broken. I said I have seen fights where a figther is in an arm bar or something that will break your bone where the ref stops it before the fighter taps or gets his bone broken because the ref thinks it might break his bone. He asked for specific fight examples, but I cannot remember any of the top of my head. Please help.
Hmmmm maybe filho/sonnen where it looked like his arm was bent the wrong way and sonnen was screaming and the ref stopped it, but he didn't tap? My memory is a lil foggy so I don't know if that was exactly how it went down
Sonnen yelled out when he was in the hold, but claims to not submitting or tapping out. Filho had a tight armbar and the ref stopped the fight.
Generally the ref wills top it if it looks tight and the fighter isn't getting out of it.
I think another instance was Warren/Fernandes, but I think Warren says he got him or something and made the mistake.
I yell alot without even realizing it when I am in a sub. I think its the initial explosion by the opponent. Just reaction, I mean it doesnt hurt all the time when you scream.
I think I remember Herb Dean stopping a fight at either a fight night or fight for the troops events because of a tightly locked sub that a guy wasn't getting out of. May have been a Cantwell fight.
Anyone remember what I'm talking about ?

Your right. That was the Cantwell vs Razak fight or something wasn't it ? God I hated when cantwell was praising himself for breaking an arm." I've always wanted to do that "
