they all have to unanimously agree to get a conviction or acquittal. That's why the mob would target and threaten 1 juror - all they needed to flip was 1 to get Guido out the pokey.

They were trying to say there was reasonable doubt (in their eyes) and he thought she was guilty by murder not insanity, so he had no doubts. They were trying to pressure him to see their view and held his ground.
 
Without digging too deep on this awful story, I had a brief conversations with a few liberal women this week who were talking about this, representing the free Lindsay side. Their dominant question to me was how I could not see their position. It was Lindsay Lindsay Lindsay...

I asked, more than once, if either of them could tell me the name of 1 of those kids that were murdered.

Crickets.

And that right there shocks me. WTF happened to these defenders of this kind of tragedy? They've given zero thought to those kids, what the fucking fuck man...

I have no idea, why the world is so obsessed with this "us vs. them" stuff.
Nations, races, sexes, political parties, religion.
I don't even understand it with team sports, but i get that this is the best place for that mentality.
Everywhere else it makes me sick.
If someone fucks up, you point it out, no matter which team they are on.

it's interesting to watch one side in utter confusion that black people don't just automatically ride with them.

Unless that man is someone they like. Then he could be a serial killer and they would hand wave it as mental illness or something.

I was myself sucked into some of this stuff and pulled myself out, and I came to a realization. People are angry first, or angry at things close to home that they cannot show to be angry about, and so they seek either a reason to be angry or a more generalized reason that would be impossible for them to resolve, so they can stay angry. Anger is a narcotic, it triggers the fight or flight response and pumps adrenaline through the body.

One thing that caught my eye is that angry extremist partisans dont hate the opposing end the most. They hate the neutrals the most. Cause their the ones that just want to grill and live happy lives, purposely ignorant of whatever current event is going on. And that makes miserable partisans even angrier, because they see people out their living their best lives.

I don't have strong thoughts on the Clancy case (I honestly went out of my way to avoid following it... it was very depressing), but it's insane the way that people are going after this 'lone holdout' juror.

Which the defense attorney could have dismissed or ruled out before the trual but probably thought he'll be on "their side" only to act like this when he isn't
