From you!I have no idea where "Macklemore is my boy" came from.
Its hard to take your arguments seriously when you don't even remember what you say. Is Mack your boy, or isn't he? You seem to promote his views quite a bit, or was that only an argument point of convenience that you did not actually fully understand?I'd get cancelled too, like my boy Mack.
You constantly promote antisemitic stereotypes and I don't think you even realize you're doing it. Macklemore was dropped because he was becoming a lightning rod of controversy. The other musician who was leading the tour was in a lose-lose situation with Macklemore on board and so he was dropped.Yet, a bunch of rich, Jewish guys took offense and colluded
and that little massage loving douche chose the money from night 2 over being a morally upstanding Jew
I know only what you say, and your words have led numerous people here to come to the exact same conclusion. The fact that you think you know my feelings and can define them is laughable. It is also extremely arrogant. I have a few years on you, and what is conservative today is not the conservatism I was raised upon.
That's really shitty to grasp for the age argument here. That might make more sense if I was a teenager or in my twenties, but 41 years is enough to understand what political terms mean, and further, to understand how they have changed over time. You know I'm well read, Ulf, don't try to pull the age card on me.
I think our healthcare system is atrocious, and I have absolutely had family members, including my wife before she was my wife, get badly burned financially from insurance companies. But socialized medicine is not the answer for this country. It would require far too much overhaul of the entire country, and it is simply too big of an issue to simply legislate it into being. Nor is socialized medicine in countries of our size an efficient system. But I don't have the time or inclination to have this debate. But if you honestly think our healthcare system is not morally and fiscally corrupt, then we probably will never meet in the middle. Or, you simply have not had friends or family get ruined by insurance companies due to overwhelming debt. When it happens (this is not an "if"), maybe you can actually feel differently.
Regardless, gunning down CEOs in cold blood is not going to get us anywhere. Nor will Bernie Sanders.
As others have said already, Ulf, you really, really do not know what you're talking about on this issue and this will likely be the last comment I ever make to you regarding this. The Irish situation is simply not comparable, not even close. It's apples and baseballs, man. You're seeing what you want to see.And lastly, Palestine. This is a humanity issue for me, but for some reason you think it is a political issue. Thousands of people are dying at the hands of a hard line regime. The powerful are oppressing the weak. I will always disagree with that, regardless of reason and political affiliation. Benevolent leaders are what the world needs.
I was raised by Irish Catholic parents raised by Irish Catholic parents and so on. Both sides. I know why my people came to the US. I know the stories of my family's oppression. I know why my great, great grandfather boarded a ship and what it cost to leave his home. I know that it took him 20 years to pay off the "cost" of that voyage, living little better than a slave, and then live a free man with no prospects. I know that he was segregated and discriminated against, had his name changed ironically to a Yiddish name when he arrived, and treated little more than a vagrant. I watched my grandmother over 100 years later never get an opportunity and wash clothes for rich people because that was all she was ever taught. I learned these things at the feet of angry alcoholics who supported Sinn Fein and the nationalist Irish movement of the 60's/70's mostly through drunken rants. But when in my lifetime, I can walk in ANY area of Belfast as a part of the Republic of Ireland, and the shackles of 800 motherfucking years of British tyranny are finally gone from the island of my forefathers, I can die happy. And Palestine reminds me of Ireland but with more world support. So yeah, I am biased.
You are an intelligent enough person that if you took off your blinders and really looked at the history, there is no way you would rail against Israel as much as you do and with the cloaked antisemitic tropes you constantly trot out.
The Palestinians have blown every chance they have had at an independent country for 80 years now. They have created the climate they live in through their incessant hatred that is literally forced upon their children. Have you ever seen what education is like for Palestinians? It's all learned and forced hatred of Jews from the time they are in preschool. Israel does no such thing. There will never be peace in that region until Palestinian parents love their children more than they hate Israel.
But let's not debate this anymore. It's pointless.
