Who Wins and How
I picked Pettis by Ko, just based on his amazing striking and power. I think if Edgar can recover and tool him, then Pettis would be able to do the same in fashion.

Pettis.
First two rounds are a mix of Pettis peppering Maynard with shots and Maynard getting the occasional TD but not doing much.
Round 3, Maynard gets the fight down but gets caught in a triangle.

Anthony Pettis is obviously the better striker and has the better brazilian juijitsu.
But Gray Maynard is Top 2 in the Lightweight Division when it comes to wrestling, right behind Gilbert Melendez.
So this fight would look like this.
Round 1: The first minute, they will exchange a few strikes, before Maynard takes Anthony Pettis down, and keeps him there, avoiding every submission attempt.
Round 2: See Round 1.
Round 3: See Round 1 or 2. Lmfao.
I like Pettis, and I even know this would happen.

Not sure about Melendez being a better wrestler...
Maynard won state in Ohio, probably the toughest state in HS wrestling and was a 4 time All American at MSU... :?

Pettis has some of the best striking in the Lightweight Division and is really hard to keep down. He is quick and can move in and out realy quick just like Edgar so I got him winning this fight by decision because Maynard can take some good shots.

I find it interesting that many people have Pettis beating Guida. I would love to see it happen, but Guida is notorious for knocking down prospects, and i could easily see Guida doing the same to him.

I'm not suprised many see it that way, Pettis is "Showtime." They are still in amazement of his super kick and not thinking about much more if you ask me. I'll laugh when he loses and hope those who were hypnotized learn something from it.

I'm somewhat the opposite, he's shown so much skill in all his fights. The front kicks he kept leveling Bendo with and the fact he get reversing Bendo and Roller, 2 guys that should be way better than him...
But i am torn, because a lot of people just see that kick. In all honesty, his head kick of Castillo was way deadlier and if he catches anybody with that kick again... they're going down...
except Guida... apparently he is impervious to flush head kicks.

As much as I hate to admit it, I don't put much faith in Bendo anymore. When he burst onto the WEC, he had the fire, it has long since faded; it was evident in his fight with Pettis and it was evident in his fight with Bocek. Ben has been feeling himself, and it's getting in the way. He has the tools, but he's not good enough to continue to take mental moments to himself in the Octagon and to continue his dominant winning ways.

I'm kind of with you about Henderson, but not entirely. I thought he owned Bocek in all areas and i thought Bocek would do better, tapped Cerrone with relative ease in a fight everyone thought Cerrone was going to do good.
I guess we'll find out what the Pettis/Henderson fight means in a little while. Either Pettis really is good, or that was a glorified WEC fight. The thing that Pettis has been most impressive with, at least to me, is negating wrestling with Capoeira... that's just been amazing to watch. He's done it in every fight where he's fought wrestlers and i've just never seen it used effectively before.
I think the fact he's also got a coach in Duke Rufous is something that can't be overlooked. He's training with a lot hard hitting strikers, and now he's training with Ben Askren...

Yeah, these are all things that I have been seeing, however, his bout with Guida can definitely not be ignored. Guida has shown no tendency to buy into the hype and simply goes out and fights his fight. Add in the fact that he has a solid game, everywhere a fight can go, and that carries weight. If Pettis is able to knock him off, even I will be impressed.

I can imagine Maynard testing Pettis on the feet for about one minute, then taking him down and controlling him for the remaining fourteen.
Showtime becomes Slowtime.
Welcome to the big leagues.
