After such a one sided beat down of the former champ, Not many thought including myself think he would win in the rematch.
Who in the HW division can beat Velasquez if the fight goes past the first round ?

Fabricio Werdum would be interesting, he has good muay thai and awesome jiu jitsu.
Josh Barnett would be a puzzle for Velasquez maybe.
Reem could land a bomb on the feet, has some good subs on the ground too.
HW division doesn't seem so deep now lol

I wouldn't mind seeing Belcher vs Franklin, Boetsch or Bisping (if he loses).
I'd also like to see the Palhares vs Okami fight happen like it was supposed to at UFC 150.

Here's the thing with most HW''s they all have power and any fight can stop with one punch hence why so many fights never go the full distance.
Also with the size of most HW's they carrying around all that weight, which severely depletes your cardio but with Cain that is not an issue with his pressure and constant pace making them fight his fight regardless if he can't land the take down at first he will still keep coming and not worry about tiring as much, which is a HUGE advantage over the division he can take most fighters to deep waters and just drown them there.

I thought i read Werdum gets the next shot. Part of me really wants to see Big Country get a shot so Cain can put a redneck style beat down on him & shut him up for awhile. I didnt think JDS would make it 5 rounds, let alone BC.

I hope Big Country never gets a title shot, imo. Werdum was beat by Overeem in Strikeforce, so I think Reem should get a shot before Werdum.
Although... Chael gets title shots for losing, so maybe Werdum makes more sense for the UFC.

I heard the same. But Werdum doesn't fight till June. Making Cain/Werdum at about sept at the earliest. I think Cain might wanna get fight before then.

The Werdum fight is interesting because he's so dangerous off his back. Also i really want to see Cains submission defense tested against someone like Werdum. I was impressed he went for that armbar on JDS in the 4th rd?
Aside from Werdum, i think we all want to see how Overeem would fair. I have no intetest in watching Carwin get absolutely mauled and mopped around the ring for 3-5 rounds. And as interesting as the Cormier matchup would be, i just dont see DC having the cardio that Cain does. No one does....except Guida and Bendo.
