Rampage vs Evans 2 in a 5 round fight for the LHW Championship could be one of the biggest fights in UFC History.
I would love to see this fight. Rampage put on a good fight against Machida taking the 1st two rounds, getting caught in the 3rd but overcoming it. He looked great. In My Opinion.
But 1st Evans has to get by Shogun which I Don't think he will but I'll root for him just so I could see Rampage/Evans 2 in a 5 ROUND FIGHT!
If the 1st time they met would have been a 5round fight, Rampage would have won that fight.
It's wishful thinking but it's completely possible.

I have to ask, what in the heck makes you think Rampage would have won the first fight if it was 5 rounds? He was gassed after a round and a half and got beaten 30-27 on all three cards. If anything, Rampage would have been finished if it was a five round fight.

I'll choose Rashad over Rampage again.

If Rampage beats SHogun I'll answer this question.

When Machida finally became aggressive, Rampage had no answer. He was beat on his feet, beat on the ground. Managing to get back to his feet, taken down again and put in an omoplata(shoulder lock) and the round ended. I say 20 more seconds and he would've tapped. If we had a rematch I'd pick Machida KO RND 2.
These say it all.

He was put in an omoplata at the end of the round? I remember the fight finishing with Rampage on top while Machida having the rubber guard. He never had an omoplata in, just had rubber guard. Wow you're one biased Machida fan from what I'm reading.

Rashad gassed. Was running away the whole 3rd round, Rampage was looking for the finish. Rashad was trying to escape the 3rd round so he could get the decision. If there was one more round in there, Rashad would have been finished.

I thought he had a shoulder lock not the rubber guard, I'll have to rewatch the fight.

Rampage had Rashad rocked in their last fight, and I don't think Rashad could go 5 rounds holding onto Rampage and not get hit. After the first fight, I actually think Dana would be reluctant to make a rematch. The first fight was one of the most boring I've seen lately, I doubt a rematch would be any better unless Rampage was more aggressive as Rashad seemed to just want to hold him after landing one punch.
Plus, Rashad won't be beat Shogun. He can hang on to him all he likes, Shogun will land at least one knee, punch or kick, and when it hits Rashads glass jaw, he'll be hanging on for his consciousness for the 4th fight in a row.

Really dude? So Rampage was fine but Rashad gassed? Rampage gassed in a round and a half. When you gas you lose damn near all your power. In all honesty, if the fight went 5 rounds, the last two rounds would have been Rashad dancing and mixing in the odd takedown and Rampage standing there winging his telegraphed hook and missing over and over again. Nobody would have been finished.

Rampage needs to work on his cardio and his wrestling if he wants any shot at beating rashad. As does shogun. rashad will be a big test for either fighter.

I cant belive ppl is still bump for this fight, the "hate" between the 2 was a freaking joke, it was WWE style drama.. the fight sucked d---!!
I will much rather see Shogun beat the living crap out of Rampage than Rampage face Rashad just for to see how their little TV drama ends up...

Really? Rampage has some of the best cardio in the sport. The guy was fresh as a daisy after 3 rounds with Machida and was also quite fresh after a 5 round absolute war with Hendo. Rampage has no cardio issues at all. He had a huge weight cut for the Rashad fight and hadn't been training because of the A-team movie. That is the only fight in which he has shown issues with his cardio in the UFC. Don't expect to see him gassed again. He still had enough cardio to fight hard and almost KO'd Rashad in the third. If he fights Rashad again Rashad will try to to do the same thing again, will gas after 3 rounds or so and get KO'd in the championship rounds. People seem to forget how great guys are and write them off way too soon. Its like Joey Odessa saying he didn't see a way for Rampage to win one round against Machida. Rampage was the champion not that long ago and before the Rashad fight after a huge layoff he had only lost one very close decision in the UFC in a fight that some people think he won.
Hopefully Shogun beats Rashad and I can see the rematch I have really been wanting to see since the PRIDE days. Rampage vs Shogun 2 would be so epic it is ridiculous.

people actually think he won the forrest griffin fight? even though he could hardly walk?
I havent heard that, but people say some pretty crazy things these days. He definately wasnt fresh after the machida fight, but again think what you want. I feel like against rashad, his greatest enemy will be his own conditioning, and wrestling.

In order for there to be a Rashad-Rampage rematch, Rashad must beat Shogun; otherwise, Rashad goes down to 185, and that is that.

Can Rashad even make 185?

There was a thread about this a couple weeks back. Rashad said he could make 185 if he had to, but he doesn't want to. He said the cut would be rough, although he's not like a lot of the light heavyweights. I believe he only cuts something like 15 pounds to get to 205 from his walk around weight.
