I like the guy nodding out on the car.
Btw; Is it illegal to buy cigarettes if you are on welfare?
Btw/btw: If the dude in the truck was black & he walked over and snatched that woman's wallet, He is in jail before he makes it back to his vehicle.

You can't use welfare to buy cigarettes. Going on welfare isn't the relinquishment of your rights to have certain habits. So if you can find the money, you can buy it.
On average, most "poor people" need anywhere from $1,000-4000 more a month to cover their monthly expenses, depending on what city and state they live in. Welfare really doesn't cover it. Which is why this video is so special. The family is driving a Lexus SUV! Chances are, they are selling drugs or participating in a welfare scheme and aren't really eligible at all.
You get a card and its non-transferrable. Maybe at a small corner store the owner might let someone else use your card, but probably not, as they are subject to random checks.
You used to be able to "sell" or exchange your food stamp books for actual cash or items you wanted. For example, someone might sell $150 in food stamps for $80 in cash. But usually to other welfare recipients who ran out.
And yeah, that's why all this is so interesting. If the welfare cheater or the truck driver had been black, this would have made Fox News. All in all, crazy.
Not sure why opti thinks most people would qualify for some form of assistance. I would wholeheartedly disagree. You need to fall in the low-income bracket in your state. On average, most people are getting $400-500 total benefits. That's food, medical, insurance, for a family of three. It's not a whole lot.
How Americans really cheat the system is faking injuries. Disability payments are crazy high and the burden of proof is crazy low. Everyone from the poor to middle-income, to veterans giving other veterans a bad name...It's pretty terrible.
