Prequels, ugh I hates them. To me it's a lazy concept to rehash characters that were popular and try to cash in on their success ala Sin City 2, Star Wars etc etc.
I just can't watch them in the same level of interest as I know what will ultimately happen to the character in the future.
Also as a side note, are there any good prequels? If so, what are they?
Here's a list of the "best" according to the telegraph
Promethus
X-Men First Class
The Exorcist - The Beginning
The Hobbit (s)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning
Star Wars Episode 1
^^ Also lol @ that list if that is the "best"

Rogue One
I also enjoy Revenge of the Sith
Godfather Part II is a prequel and a sequel
Prometheus
X-Men: First Class
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Part 2 and 3 of The Hobbit movies I like
2009 Star Trek is a prequel to the original series I think.
Upcoming Han Solo movie will be a prequel as well
Still need to see Fantastic Beasts but I get 50/50 reactions on that one.
Most of the times they are for properties that don't need them but I like them when done right

I like them. I enjoy seeing the characters in their youth, or their family getting to the point where are now, ala Star Wars.

Really depends on the film itself. Rouge One is great, X Men First Class was great. Episode 1, f--- that. The Hobbit is not really a prequel, it was written first. The movies just did them backwards.

Had a great response until Genome's post...Right in the feels! I think we got to 20 weeks if I remember correctly.
On topic of the thread, I like prequels most of the time unless they don't have some of the same characters. Won't I don't like is when they show you a scene and then cut back "12 hours earlier". That s--- I f---in hate seeing but usually end us liking the movie or show in the end lol. Rico listed some pretty god ones too.

The GBU is probably the best because it was not officially intended to be a prequel but ended up being one at the same time.

I'm not sure if "Rogue One" would be consider a "Prequel."

Spinoff prequel sequel . It's a spinoff of the main Star Wars saga, but before the original 3 (IV -VI) and after the first 3 episodes.

I watch all kinds of movies. I'm a movie buff, but I'm a sweaty first and foremost. I can talk CBM's all day cause I read the source material and care more about the characters.
