I see that people have been posting this idea (UFC hiring monitors for fighter's social media) and i just want to say that this exists and IT'S THE SOLUTION!
I play a character on a radio show here in Canada and whatever is written by us, the cast members, on Facebook or Twitter is first checked out through
our station. I'm not sure how they do it (ignorant of the nuts and bolts) but if implemented, it would sure stop all this craziness. Fighters are not
politicians ('cept for some) and should not be forced to speak to the public; doing so results in situations like we've seen, so a monitor for these athletes
would be wise.

I was curious and I Googled/Binged the subject matter and although I didn't find anything particular in MMA forums I did come across many articles that talked how professional sport teams are using social media as a viable market outlet -- and many want their players to be involved. They then loosely discussed about having someone to monitor the players, coaches, etc for fear that 'everyone's cutoff is at different degrees. '
Although sport teams are made of of less people to manage than the UFC if White is pushing the majority of the fighters to get in the social media game. I guess it would create a few job openings, but could be a daunting task unless there is software to look for key words, but even that would only make up a small percent of comments.
I don't really see why White is pushing this on his fighters other than that seems to be the next big thing for sports team. It seems to be more headache that not. Lots of fighters are in it on their own, without a directive from the top.

Agree, terrible idea Brick.
I dont want the UFC to turn into every other sport out there.
I like the fact fighters are still basically real people.

+1
When fighters are not in the octagon or a press conference or whatever, they're people just like us. It shouldn't be the UFC's job to parent their fighters about their Twitter and junk. At the same time, the UFC should not be held accountable for something a fighter says when he is not in a press conference/in the octagon/whatever.

just wait til ufc cuts everybody for their twitter comments. besides, arent the fighters 'self employed' or 'contractors' and not employees of ufc/zuffa?? this is the new UFFC (extra F is for Fox)

i agree that fighters SHOULD be free to say what they want, but if the UFC is prepared to FIRE them for specific comments,
then they should have monitors. I support the idea not because i like the UFC's policies, but because this is the reality of the
situation and i don't want any more fighters to lose their jobs over this ridiculous scene!

sorry but this is not anything new.............and especially not new in the "real world" If i say something ridiculous i can get fired from my job............so should i have a monitor at all times? NO its called personal responsibility.
as much as i think this crap has gone too far and the world is overly sensitive its not like all this is brand new to people.........regardless if its new to the ufc(which its not)
