till a day ago, jardine was a top fighter, for most guys, for me, watch him fight was the worst punishment I could've got... Nothing personal, his style is just plain awful...

Stevenson is coming off a win over Nate Diaz, Nate's 1st loss in the UFC. Obviously Stevenson isn't a real title contender, but still a good fighter.

Joe's a tough dude, he'll beat Fisher bad. Stevenson really is a top level guy, yeah he's lost three of his last five but look who they were.

most of the fighters listed are solid gate keepers and have their place in the ufc. Until some of these guys just "give up the fight", they will have a place. Leben and Jardine are not even close to getting cut. They bring the wood. Not to mention joe daddy, who is a top 15 fighter and will weed out the weak.
Leben however looked chunky and lethargic. I think his lack of drugs/booze, kind of tweeked him. He never looked like he was excited to fight.

Just because a guy can't really be a contender for the title doesn't mean he can't be paired up for a great match up or an awesome fight. Not every fight can be for the title. Many of the better fights I have seen ahave been from guys who know they are out of the title picture but still want to make a living and prove they can put on a great performance for the fans. I believe there are still plenty of match ups for these guys. They may be on free tv (fight nights) but still a place to get exposure. I think the UFC should have at least one monthly free fight night to showcase some of the younger fighters and some of these gatekeepers.

Keith Jardine had a huge reception from the crowd and only got KO'd with a flash punch. His chin may not be that great, but he threw flurries and a couple of big kicks. Not to mention his impressive ability to get back to his feet so quickly with a guy like Thiago on top. A guy with wins over Griffin and Liddell, who also had a razor close decision loss to Rampage, and someone that is generally well liked by MMA fans is not somebody that you cut because he has 2 losses in a row. This guy just unseated Brandon Vera 2 fights ago in case you forgot.
Chris Leben is too popular to release right now. They will keep him around for Spike TV events, but it's doubtful that his next appearance will be on the main card of a PPV.
Ed Herman is quite likely finished in the UFC. I believe that makes 3 straight losses for him and he wasn't impressive last night.
Where the hell did you get Joe Stevenson from? He is a TUF winner and just beat another TUF winner in his last fight. Not to mention that they are setting him up to face Clay Guida right now. The guy has headlined quite a few cards in his time in the UFC and is well recognized by fans. In case it wasn't already obvious that you don't know what you're talking about, this is a great example.

Not sure how you can make a case for cutting any of these guys yet sign guys like Baroni.
The UFC won't cut anyone they think Strikeforce might be intersted in signing. All of those guy would do quite well in SF.

True, I forgot about that. That's how much I care about Nate Diaz.
Seriously, I hate that kid and his brother. I hope a lot of Nicks sponsors dropped him after his last little fiasco.

Chris Leben: Still a good fighter. Give him a striker in his next fight.
Ed Herman: He lost his fight due to injury. If he loses his next fight then the UFC will cut him.
Joe Stevenson: Top 5 LW in the UFC
Marcos Aerillio: Let the UFC cut him. I think he is overrated.
Kieth Jardine: The only LHW to face most of the top 10 fighters. Still important to the UFC.
