They were discussing this match up on UFC Tonight. What do you guys think? I like it more than DC vs Phil Davis. Very interesting match up for both guys.
Yeah I would lean towards DC too but I would love to see a rejuvenated Rashad make some waves again at LHW. If good Rashad shows up it would be an interesting fight.

Yeah but he hasn't fought anyone as fast as Rashad before. That would be the challenge... different type of fighter from a plodding Bigfoot or a Mir.
I don't really like DC so I'm trying to come up with reasons to pick against him.

DC is fast also, he throws pretty quick punches.

True... that was definitely an advantage for him at HW. Curious to see how the weight cut goes and how his skills match up at LHW.

It's an interesting fight on paper,if both show up in top form. Kinda have to lean towards DC simply because he's danced with the Big Boys and hasn't lost as well as many rating him right under the Champ. This fight could turn out to be a lot more competitive than many would believe. I think it's an awesome match.
But....I still say DC vs Gus was THE fight to make....
I wouldn't underestimate Rashad, as small as he is he has fought at heavyweight before and in fact had to fight a behemoth in Brad Imes for the Tuf Finale. Also he's not giving up much size against DC if any, I think they are both the same length and height if i'm not mistaking.

Rashad is a more polished version of Phil Davis. In their fight, rashad just dominated Phil at all aspect of mma. If Cormier wants a tougher test right now it has to be rashad, which makes it more intriguing for fans.
I think DC would take this. I would never underestimate Rashad, the man has some great skills and when he dominated a great wrestler in Davis I thought that was impressive. Daniel is just a different sort of animal though. In all seriousness if someone like Tito can score a few takedowns imagine what a Olympic wrestler will do to him(and at a lower weightclass). The stand up could be key though and it's 50-50 on the feet IMO. I just think Daniel will mix both up.

DC - Height: 5'11" (181cm) | Reach: 72.5" (184cm)
Sugar - Height: 5'11" (181cm) | Reach: 75.0" (191cm)
Should be a great fight that will probably stay on their feet as is often the case when 2 great wrestlers fight.
Have to go with Rashad. DC is still an unknown at LHW and might not be able to deal with Rashad's speed.
