I am a fan of Rashad Evans, but I think I have picked up on something...Rashad is always mentioning his Psychology Degree and how he uses it to his advantage, but I have to disagree and it seems that it may affect him more than his opponents. Bisping (Split), Rampage (Decision), and Davis (Decision), were three of the biggest fights as far as Rashad using his verbal warfare went, but they were three of his least impressive performances. Yes, he won, which is the end goal, but maybe if he didn't focus on the "so called" mental warfare, maybe he would put on more impressive performances. Do you think his mental warfare effects Rashad as well or am I just grasping at straws?

I think Anderson Silva's psychological warfare works better. He says little and scares the f*ck out of everyone not named Chael Sonnen.
I would have a better response for Evans, he just doesn't fight often enough or hasn't fought a good opponent in far too long to know how his talking works on fighters who are equal or better than him.
i like Evans, he used to make me money when i bet MMA, but like Griffin, the Evans when he was on the rise isn't the same Evans we see today.

I think you might be clutching at straws my friend,Rashads a hard fight for most, apart from the Hendo fight,Bisping,as you mentioned has never been beat(decisively),and was a tough fight for Sugar, and the Rampage and Davis fights,Evans wasn't the clear favourite, slight favourite on at least 1 of the them, maybe but not clear, with a lot of fans thinking he couldn't hang with Quentin but did good(even though he was in all kinds of trouble in the final round)and I seem to remember a lot of fans that said he couldn't hang with Phils wrestling and he not only hung with him but dominated him to a good win,and Phil had better wrestling honours than Sugar and Bones.
Who's to say that Rashad might be in JBJ's head cos he just might be with the training they did together, that's a advantage to Rashad(not a big one though cos bones is a beast)
I like Rashad now too,I think he's misunderstood with his supposed cocky attitude,I hated him one time until I seen him as a coach on tuf, where he appeared to be a nice guy,who was always there for his team, win or lose and I hope he's in Johns head enough to beat him,I can't see anyone beating John though but here's hoping.

I think Rashad comes across as very childish sometimes, so yeah I think Rashad is at mental war with himself more so than "he thinks" he's in his opponents head.

Naa, it's his sole loss and way over used!
TS, It may work well VS JBJ! Mental thoughness is not his strenth!

I think I like the original blown up more. The photchopping in that one is overdone.
Me, I like the knockouts
AND
the knockers in my life to be the same way - augmentation free.

I personally think all "headgames" may affect the fighters during training a bit and pre-fight press conferences, but when the cage closes all that stuff is minimal and it comes down to the two guys' instinct and skills. Diaz bros are excluded because they play the headgames in the cage just as much as out the cage.

It depends. If a fighter is mentally weak, than it can play right into the hands of the fighter trying to play all these head games.

Actually I kind of agree...but I don't think it's psychological warfare against his opponents like he thinks, it actually works against him because he's afraid of the KO since Machida knocked him senseless. If you notice against Rampage/Silva as soon as he gets hit he absolutely panics. Yes he was able to control all of his opponents and come away with the decisions, but where is the methodical fighter that took out Griffin/Ortiz - two guys that just so happen to not have strong striking games? As soon as Rashad gets hit flush by Jones he's going to panic and try to get him down asap...this isn't going to work or be very successful for 5 rounds.
