Rosencrantz: It's a day late but we should remember an event that so often gets lost amidst the coverage of the Sept. 11 attacks. Yesterday was also the 38th anniversary of the coup d'etat that overthrew Salvador Allende, the democratically elected president of Chile, and began the almost two decade military dictatorship under Augusto Pinochet. Over 3,000 people died during Pincohet's brutal regime. Two days ago, President Allende was reburied in a private ceremony.
RIP Salvador Allende, a great leader who unfortunately was a victim of Cold War politics.
