Renato Sobral vs. Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante June 6th!

After weeks of speculation and preliminary reports, it's now official.
Strikeforce's follow up to April's "Shamrock vs. Diaz," a 182-pound catchweight bout between top-ranked fighters Robbie Lawler (16-4) and Jake Shields (22-4-1) will take place June 6 in St. Louis.
Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Renato "Babalu" Sobral (32-7) will also defend his title against Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante (7-1) at the event.
Strikeforce released the information Thursday.
"Strikeforce: Lawler vs. Shields" will take place at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, and the main card will air live on Showtime. Tickets for the event are set to go on sale through Ticketmaster.com on April 13, with tickets starting at just $30.
The Lawler vs. Shields bout was originally announced by Strikeforce in a March press conference promting the organization's April 11 event. The card was expected to take place in the Seattle area, but Strikeforce will instead head to St. Louis.
Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker also revealed to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) at the March press conference that Sobral and Cavalcante would each be appearing on the card. Now the organization has paired the two Brazilians against each other in Sobral's first 205-pound title defense.
Also expected to be announced for the card are a welterweight bout between Phil Baroni and Joe Riggs, as well as appearances by Kim Couture, Joey Villasenor and Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos.
Jorge Gurgel and Kim Couture are also rumored for the June 6 event.

WOW! This fight has the potential to be awesome. Feijao is a top prospect training with some of the best there is (Anderson Silva/Team Nog) so hopefully he has the BJJ skills to go with his awesome striking.

Yup... tough test for Cavalcante... if he brings his "A' game he could take this fight, but Sobral is one of the most solid veterans in the sport. This sells me on the card by itself.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been waiting for this fight. I'm so pumped. This is Feijao biggest test to date. I think Feijao takes this one. He is a BJJ Black Belt so he should do well on the ground and Thai is solid also.

Damn, this is a great fight. Babalu has been on a tear since he was cut from the UFC, and I really want to see how Cavalcante will do against a top fighter. I can't wait for this event

Yup, he's a pretty well rounded fighter. His TDD is pretty good to which he displayed against wrestler Wayne Cole last year.

What ever happened to Southworth? He lost the belt because of a cut.......i would have liked to see him in a rematch. The fight was pretty competitive up to that point

I meant that it was close. Babalu wasnt really dominating him or anything. They were in the clich against the cage for most of the fight....but it had to be close on the cards before the cut

Pretty sure this fight will be over in the first round either Feijao via TKO/KO or Renato via Sub.
Definitely going with Renato btw but i can see Feijao winning.
