Two more UFC fighters recently tested positive for banned substances.
Following July's UFC 149 event, welterweight Matt Riddle was flagged for marijuana while featherweight Francisco Rivera tested positive for an undisclosed over-the-counter stimulant, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has learned from multiple sources close to the event.
Both fighters were suspended for 90 days retroactive to the July 21 event, which makes them eligible to fight on Friday. The results of their respective bouts were not changed.
According to sources close to the competitors, both fighters declined to appeal their punishments and apologized for their actions.
Shirley Stunzi of the Calgary Combative Sports Commission, which oversaw the pay-per-view event at the Scotiabank Saddledome, declined comment for this story. Reps for both fighters were unreachable.
Riddle (7-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC) fought striking specialist Chris Clements and won a "Submission of the Night" bonus for securing a third-round arm triangle.
Rivera (9-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) fought Roland Delorme and put in an early bid for a "Knockout of the Night" bonus with a crushing stoppage of the veteran of "The Ultimate Fighter 14," though the honor ultimately went to Ryan Jimmo for a seven-second KO of Anthony Perosh

Clements today released a statement to theScore.com via text message with his thoughts on the matter.
Chris Clements said:
“Drugs are prohibited. So it should be a no contest. But as the same time I don’t see weed as performance enhancement.
“I fought injured and maybe if I smoked weed it would have killed the pain so I could of trained properly.
“Hard to fiter exact thoughts. I just found out about this.”

Clements fought Riddle with an injured shoulder that he recently had surgery on to repair. He is currently on the mend and hopes to returning in 2013 as a 155 pounder, as he plans to drop down from 170.
The loss stands on Clements’ record even though many other jurisdictions, such as California, will see a positive drug test resulting in a no contest.

Riddle looked very good in that fight. I think the victory should stand.
In my mind, Nick Diaz' gogo over Gomi still counts as well.

When I was watching him on TUF, I literally spit out whatever I was drinking when he said that he didn't have a driver's license and got rides to train from his mom, and Rampage looks at him and says, "I like this dude!" Then, when he was more excited that Tim Credur (sp?) was going to give him an X-Box than he was disappointed that he lost the fight...
