with a loss, I'd say it's more likely they make McGregor defend at 145
that was my thinking, such a high-profile match-up. but hey, they're still ranking him at no. 1, so why not test him again

Sorry, i meant McGregor vs Lawler with a win, and like you said a loss, Conor goes back to 145 and Lawler gets Woodley at 200.

That's a really simplistic way of looking at the fight & ignores the significant stylistic differences between Rory & Hendricks. Hendricks only had 1 takedown attempt on Thompson, it's not like Hendricks was repeatedly struggling to get him down. For the rest of the fight, he looked completely lost way outside his preferred range.
Rory is a top grappler, with brilliant timing on his takedowns. He's also a good enough outfighter that he won't be desperately trying to close the distance like Hendricks was, he'll pick better opportunities.
