With less than five days remaining until the curtain is drawn on the UFC’s final FOX show of 2012, the planet’s premier mixed martial arts promotion announced a pair of scraps for their first primetime event of 2013.
On Monday evening, a light heavyweight affair between Ryan Bader (Pictured) and Vladimir Matyushenko and welterweight clash with David Mitchell and Simeon Thoresen was added to the “UFC on FOX: Johnson vs. Dodson” roster.
Both scraps will likely appear in the prelims.
FX will air the preliminary card live beginning at 5PM ET/2PM PT. FOX then broadcasts the card’s showcase bouts immediately after at 8PM ET/5PM PT.
United Center in Chicago, Illinois hosts the January 26th festivities.
A flyweight title tilt between freshly crowned champion Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson headlines the freebie fight card.

Bader should have turned the Machida fight down. Why feed a relatively young fighter to the worst matchup for his skills in the whole division????

Bader shouldnt have any trouble with Vlad. If he does, it could be his last fight in the UFC for a while. Vlad shouldnt even be in the UFC anymore. He was a good fighter, but he is past his prime. The UFC is only using Vlad to tune-up Bader.

Yeah, Bader should steam roll Vlad....but again, it's mma. The rest of the main card looks sick.

He has a winning record in the UFC with losses to Jones and Gustaffson.

I see this goin like Bader's fight with Brilz. Vlad does well against mid/low-tier fighters who are a little bit older. He gets destroyed by any younger, fresher fighters. Bader's size and power will be too much.
Would really like to see Thoresen bounce back here against Mitchell, but I won't count out Mitchell in this fight to take a decision

Good comeback fight for Bader.
I'm pretty excited for Thoreson/Mitchell though.
