Ok there is no way to discuss this in the Fedor and Werdum thread.....just not possible and unlike most I am done talking about Fedor losing for the moment.
Did anyone else think that Smith looked horrible when he was on the ground? I mean whenever he was in a bad position he just froze and didn't move at all. Yes he is a striker and fun to watch but damn do something down there.

I thought Cung Le looked good tonight. I haven't seen him fight too many times, but he looked sharp. I thought he bested Smith in the first fight until he gassed -- gassed because of throwing and landing all those kicks, to Smith, which must wear out any fighter.
I seen Smith come back from the dead a few times, but I guess those liver kicks finally got to him.

He looked very uncomfortable on the ground. However, he looked even more uncomfortabvle after that spinning back kick ruptured his liver.

Scott Smith is an entertaining fighter, but not more than a mid tier fighter.
It was no different than him putting up a good fight against Lawler and then getting handled in the rematch.
In no way, to me at least, does Le beating Smith last night mean more than Le losing the first fight.

Scott smith is terrible, he is famous for getting pounded on then landing lucky punches. He is not a skilled striker and his ground game looked horrible. He is a glorified Homer Simpson.

Partially true.....but homer never actually punched anyone............usually just pushed them over after they were exhausted from beating on him

he looked terrible on the ground since he was getting kicked in the body so hard he just had to curl up each time.

I wouldn't say he's terrible, but I agree that he isn't very good. He throws bombs, is tough as nails and can be wildly entertaining, but overall skill wise, his technique is awful.

He looked a little lost, but he didnt want to get up and eat a knee. I think he kinda sat there waiting for Le to switch positions, but Le did not. Just pillaged his midsection.
