I would think most people would agree that both fighters have shown very little to be critical of since they've been in the UFC.
JDS verbally made Cro Cop quit, ko'd Yvel, ko'd top 5 HW Werdum, tko'd Struve and ko'd Gonzaga.
Carwin ko'd Gonzaga, a bunch of mid tier fighters and tko'd top 5 HW Frank Mir.
Either guy could win. I'll pick Carwin because I think he has the strength and ability to put this fight where he wants it. Against the cage or on the ground he has shown he is going to hurt you. Badly.
JDS is just too fast, and too accurate for Carwin, as long as Junior avoids getting pressed against the cage, he would use his speed to beat Carwin to the punch in every single exchange.

I don't think that Mir really did try to stand with him. They had like one exchange and then Carwin muscled him up against the fence and before Frank could do anything, Carwin was smashing his face in standing up.

I would go with JDS right now, but I'm particularly high on JDS at the moment.
Carwin is a beast, and he showed me a lot last night. I was kind of caught up in the Mir hype, and I will be the first to admit it. Carwin really looked fantastic, especially coming off a really long lay off when he had a million emotional ups and downs due to his bout cancellations and his newborn child.
JDS might be the best HW in the UFC. He's the only guy I'm really afraid of (being a huge Cain nuthugger).
IDK, but I can't ever remember a better HW division in the UFC. When guys like Kongo, Mir, Rothwell, Gonzaga, ad CroCop are considered second tier UFC HWs I think that says a shitload about that division. Brock has his hands full with guys like Carwin, JDS, and Cain. I can't even imagine if the UFC got Fedor and AO.
Too hard to decide.
Carwin has the advantage in power, JDS in technique. If JDS can use footwork to keep the fight at a distance I see him KO'ing Carwin. If Carwin gets his hands on him, I see a ground and pound finish. Unless of course Carwin catches him standing. I don't f---ing know, but damn I'd like to find out. Make it happen Dana! JDS versus Carwin after he murders Brock!
