New UFC on FOX 4 Main Event: Brandon Vera vs Shogun Rua

The UFC on FOX summer card lost its main event today with the news that headliner Brian Stann, who was set to face Hector Lombard, had been injured and forced to withdraw from the event.
The new main event on August 4 will be a five-round light heavyweight battle between two of the best Muay Thai strikers in the game, Brandon Vera and former champion Shogun Rua. Rua is riding the momentum of the fight of the century against Dan Henderson, while Vera is back in the win column and looking to make a statement after being sidelined earlier this year due to injury himself.
Rua is being plucked from the UFC 149 card in Calgary, where he was set to face Thiago Silva until Silva suffered an injury. Vera, meanwhile, was training for a bout with James Te Huna at the July FUEL TV event. A new opponent for Te Huna is expected to be named shortly.
"No one is more disappointed than I," said Stann via Twitter. "Meant the world to headline a UFC."

Front page says there's a fight between "Bandon Vera" and Shogun. I've never heard of this Bandon and cant find his fight stats anywhere. Who can help me out?

I think its fine for the Fox main event. Very weird but fine. I wonder what happens to Lombard. With his body type and knockout power, he will be a huge star. But who will be his first victim if not Stann?

1. They should have pulled Bisping to fight Lombard.
2. I don't like this fight Vera doesn't deserve to main event period.
3. Shogun/Bader and Machida/Vera would have be better.

Really? You get a guy who is going to try and lay on Shogun in Bader and you send a guy who has serious issues of late in engaging vs a counter striker and would expect better fights? OK...

When Veras on song he can be very dangerous,but when is he ever on song?.He's so inconsistent with his performances that most lhws can beat him on one of his bad days.
Shogun all the way,even if Rua's in one of his bad days too,he will still come out on top..
