Following the controversial title fight between Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and still UFC light-heavyweight champ Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida, Dana White stated that he wanted to stage a rematch between the two quickly, well it looks like he’s wasted no time in bringing it together.
According to Dave Meltzer, UFC president Dana White wants to hold a rematch between Lyoto Machida and Mauricio Rua at UFC 108 in January, the same card that is expected to see the rescheduled Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin fight. Not only does Dana have a date in mind, but “Shogun” has agreed to the fight and Machida will update the organisation on his health at a later date.
I would hazard a guess and say at this stage there is every chance that the fight could end up on a different card. With Silva vs. Belfort, Lesnar vs. Carwin and now this, it looks like UFC 108 is going to get at least one massive fight.

I see this happening at UFC 109 if anything.
